Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press
Hanshithispantz replied to Kaizero's topic in Football
Aall of the players he's signed have done exactly what they were signed for other than Sels and perhaps Lazaar. Sels was obviously a shit signing, he was signed to be our number 1 and it never worked. -

Hilarious how people cannot grasp the idea of a squad like -
Yeah and so did Norwich at the start of the season. Then Huddersfield. Then Fulham. Then Reading. Now Leeds. Next week it'll be "Sheff Weds are catching us!". Week after it'll be Derby. fuck that noise, I dislike Villa and want them to lose. Newcastle will get promoted. All of those teams are within range of us other than Fulham. But aye, let's wish Villa lose for the bantz.

Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

I know what Neesy means like, I've never seen a win to loss record like ours before over half a season It's definitely not normal and therefore you can sort of assume that some of our wins and losses will turn to draws over the remainder of the season which will ultimately lead to less points on average due to the way the points system is. Our loss record shows that we really need to improve quite a lot, even though we're 2 points off top, it's weird -
Probably got your previous posts mixed up, I agree with what you're saying here. I still think we have the strongest squad in the league on the whole like - subs included, but I don't think we're as strong as it seemed and as I've said before I think you can argue Brighton have a better first XI. Then there's Derby and Shef Wed who are probably not too far behind either. With or without signings though I expect Rafa to get us back on track.
-
Probably had more shite filler back then but we had a few players of a different class. Only really Shelvey and Gayle who've shown themselves to be on another level this year. Arguably Clark but our defence falls to peices when teams come at us.

Do we really have a better squad like?

Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

Aye. The fact we've lost 6 just shows we have a lot of room for improvement. The fact that despite this we're only 2 points from the top is ludicrous tbh -

We have 1 chance to get out of this league if we don't want to lose Rafa and end up with more British cloggers for eternity. We can waste as much as we want as long as we go up. -

It's something I've never gotten like, the argument that basically every signing you make has to be some up and coming wonderkid or someone who instantly walks into your side and improves you ten-fold. You can be pretty certain that any signing we make now in their mid 20s and beyond is made for an actual reason. Ie Rafa has identified them as being necessary. Whether that's for the dressing room, as back-up, or to slot right in. We're not just randomly signing people for no apparent reason. -

Having an actual squad is something our fans are completely alien too tbf. -
It wasn't even removed, it was merged into the actual Rafa thread

It's definitely different this year like, I've had a look at a few and most seem adamant the FA and their referees favour us because we're a 'big club'. It's clear bullshit like, we've had some horrific calls against us. We do the same in the Prem with the top sides.

Aye, his shirt was being pulled in the run up and then their defender smothered him to the ground stopping him from going for the ball. It was a stone wall penalty like.

And they are. Don't think anyone would be happy if we're not promoted. And it'd be disappointing if we don't go up as Champions. People being accused of sticking their heads in the sand because they haven't thrown their toys out the pram though. Personally I think our team is a bit overrated and the main reason we're in the top 2, and not fighting out with the rest of the pack, is because of Rafa. Like any manager though you take the good with the bad, and Rafa has his bad points no doubt, but he's by a distance the most distinguished manager we've ever had and it's pretty disheartening to see people jumping on his back every time he falters. In isolation the 6 defeats are bad but that's ignoring the pretty incredible runs of form we've been on around them. To the point Brighton are only 2 points ahead of us having the season of their lives. That's just the thing. I haven't seen anyone jumping on his back/shouting for his head etc. The criticism I've read has been pretty balanced and fair. The home form is a concern as is our response when we go a goal down. People saying he maybe could be a bit braver at home may well have a valid point as well. If fans aren't allowed to voice an opinion they may as well close messageboards like this down. That's fair enough like. I've been in and out the thread the last couple of days and a lot of what I'm referring too was probably soon after the defeat when emotions are running high. Just sense after every dip in form negativity starts to rise to pretty annoying levels, it happened around the Norwich game and it seems like it's happening again now - maybe not - I agree with a lot of what I'm reading tbh. But then you get fans coming out trying to tell us how Rafa needs to do things, as if he's unaware of our downsides or something. Like he's just too numb not to 'play 2 up top and blow everyone out the water'. Something which might work in hindsight, but across the season I think sticking to his plan will net us the most points. Sewelly I think posted something similar a while back and I think it's turned out to be pretty much bang on.

people like Yorkie and Ronaldo have been plenty critical of him without going on like lunatics. They've made great points and it hasn't been a chore to read. Our home form is terrible and Rafa has to take the blame for that - we've ballanced that out with a ridiculous away record and an allergy to drawing games. No need for anyone to go over the top.

And won the other in the most bizarre fashion ever I've really never been confident of us pulling anything back though, it's a problem with had seemingly forever. -
Honestly though we've played with a combination of all 3 and have performed pretty much identically.
