It's weird, there's a certain, very vocal, section of English fans who live and die by this "points are all that matters" mentality and somehow have came to the conclusion that the best way to consistently win those points is to play shit football. He creates chances by virtue of carrying the ball forward, something that only Ben Arfa and seemingly Cabella can do with any real effect. He isn't going to pivot on the ball and thread an inch perfect pass through like Mesut Ozil, but he uses what he has to absolutely power forward into advanced positions and we're undoubtadly better off for it. Hense why I find him exciting and how I find it utterly baffling that people would actually want to knock the bloke. Without him Cabella gets kicked from pillar to post and Jack 'played well' Colback is left threading the ball about 'neatly' creating the square root of fuck all.

Nah, the sale of Cabaye was most displeasing. Doesn't take away from the fact that Colback is a fairly decent player though, although clearly lacking in the creativity department. Aye I'm being a dick for some reason I need to fucking chill, dunno why I'm being so wound up over everything

I think he's average and that his signing was immensely disappointing considering it was probable that he wasn't going to be "Gosling's replacement," but a regular starter. We could and should have signed someone better and no ammount of "cyber tears after another 7/10 performance" will change that. (Not saying that will be you like, but it will happen.) That isn't the point though, I just think it's pretty churlish to say that Tiote is a "passenger against most teams unless we're defending for our lives" and I'm not even a massive fan of his.

Cabaye, Ba, Collocini, Enrique, Debuchy can compare but there's no doubt in my mind that he would be head and shoulders the best player we've had in a decade had he not been managed by a complete fuckwit.
