They were playing the frame back repeatedly to see if there was a touch so it's pretty clear they fucked up dragging the ref to the monitor, then as we see time and time again he has to just go along with it.

I don't think there's any indication his form drops off, the thing is that even with him being a genuinely very good player, he's still a fair ways off players like Salah and Saka, you could say the same about Gordon and Barnes too now though, I don't think there's anything between the 3 of them, but we're short at RW so that will likely be what we look at.

You can see the balls path deviate by about 5-10% after he gets a hand to it.
