Newcastle United vs. Manchester United: 4/3/26 @ 20:15 (TNT Sport)
Hanshithispantz replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
We went for Mbuemo and Elise before Elanga anyway that we know of. Think it was actually Yorkie who said it a couple of days ago, but if we actually got Howe's signings we'd have Joao Pedro, Mbuemo, Guehi & Trafford. PSR is a massive reason why none of that came off, our number 9 went on strike, and our sporting director fucked off at the start of the window -

What other excuse do you want? Teams like Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal are allowed to be shite for ages and still spend loads of money. Teams like us and Villa need to consistently hit targets to generate PSR headroom, targets which get harder to hit as the fixture list increases. Exactly what PSR is designed to do in order to ensure a handful of clubs will always dominate. -
Sorry like but in football terms 'this year' is very often used to mean the current season "Since the start of the new year" is what you'd say if you wanted people to know what you're going on about.
-
The Spurs one was worse than anything Pope has done until today imo. Was it Chelsea where they scored offside and it literally rolled past him at about 7mph too?
-
Since Howe is allergic to the loan market DCL seemed like an obvious signing. I still would have preferred Wissa even at a daft price like but nobody could have guessed he'd be out until Christmas and then trying to get back into a tired side.
-
I'm back at a point where I think Ramsdale might actually be better, but he was really shit during his small cameo the last time I wanted him in, so I'm not going to bang the drum too hard The best thing about this is that there's absolutely no chance of us putting off buying an actual top replacement for another window now.
-
His inability to use his pace to get in behind is weird like.
-
Surely I'm not the only one who remembers his touch to doing something ridiculous ratio here? It was like 12 games or something of him doing a lot with very little of the ball?
-
And again, how does it not look like we're playing with 10 with Osula or Wissa up top?
-
He was only having around 20 touches a game but was pulling off pretty outrageous touches and flicks, first time passes, lobbed through balls etc every game. Pretty sure there's a few compilations from around his first 2 months here and he's clearly very good with the ball when on form. He's been shit and out of form for months now but I'm struggling to think of many players who haven't? Bruno before he was injured, Thiaw and Hall?
-
Or some people are judging players too harshly in a tired and disjointed squad. He was excellent at taking the ball and popping it about the first couple of months. Literally nobody in the team can pass a ball now, Tonali has went from "the league's best midfielder" to a carthorse. Its pretty obvious that there's more going on than individuals just being shite.
-
Criticising him for not putting a shift in is daft imo, Elanga is probably quicker than Gordon in a race but it's evident when they're on the pitch together how much of a cart horse he looks in comparison. I don't even think Elanga's lazy either, but Gordon uses his pace well and he's always moving.
-
Everyone we're playing in the CF spot is never in the game save the odd match we're playing well in. He needs to work on his strength, as having a massive forward who's shite in the air is absolutely pointless, but his pace and movement isn't the reason he's not involved.
-
He needs to use the loan market. For all I feel for our lack of depth it's irritating seeing players on loan to sides like Villa performing while we're struggling for bodies.
-
I can only assume Ramsey saw the replay of Everton's seconds at half time.
-
"fucking hell, bad mistake but luckily he has time to get there... Oh"

Champions League 2025/26 - Round of 16 - Barcelona
Hanshithispantz replied to 54's topic in Football
I would enjoy Barca more, but Chelsea is a far, far easier tie like. -
I get thinking we needed a mobile forward, but rotating him and Wissa in the way we have had left us with no recognisable number 9
-
He needs putting back up top and not being rotated about. His form went to shit when he started getting 10-15 minutes a game and now he's playing in a midfield 3
-
Actually this is disallowed for being less than 1m into the wall as the shot is taken so maybe I'm talking shit Are there no examples of fouls in the buildup affecting the decision?
-
https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/s/KpxtyDUj8M It's not true that VAR cannot intervene for stuff in the build up like, they can apply common sense. They could have let Burn's goal stand, we're being gaslit with this idea they're hands were tied.

Why not just have all 11 players throw the opposition behind the offside line just before the balls kicked? -

Absolutely ridiculous It's a penalty if it's not a goal -
