Chelsea vs Newcastle United - 25/08/12 @ 5:30 (Live on ESPN)

We're about 6/1 at the bookies to win this, ridiculous price. -
Fees & wages(being generous - £40k pw each) would be close to 40% of their turnover, they better deliver top half finishes or the club will never turn a profit. Financially they are taking a huge gamble. I cannot say i'm privy to their finances tbh but I think £10m(?) and £40k is a good deal for Johnson, it's just a shame for them that every other deal they've made in the past couple of years (bar Sess & Larsson) has been horrific.
-
Obviously they've paid massively over the odds for Fletcher but Johnson is a fantastic signing for them. They now have a player who could actually walk into our squad
-
He's not a bad footballer at all when he's played in midfield, I mean he's not a world beater but he's fairly comfortable on the ball and has a good right foot. I don't think he could be further from Delap as a player actually.

Parjew & Jewcastle are the worst. Only in Sunderland.

I know it isn't exactly on topic, but are you happy with Tottenham's work this window Leffe? I would say your squad has took a pretty big hit (especially with Luka on his way) but I haven't really took much notice of the transfer fees that yous have received, or if any of it is planned to be reinvested back into the squad before the window closes? As a rival club (I think it's highly possible we'll be competing again this year, although probably for 5th or 6th place as opposed to 4th) I'm personally pretty happy with Tottneham's 'losses' as I think the squad and manager (at least in the short term) are weaker for it, I'm unsure if this is a misplace belief or not though. EDIT: To answer the thread question I'm really happy, we've improved the squad that finished 5th last year without any major losses, what isn't there to be happy about? If we sign Debuchy I wouldn't know what to do with myself.

If he's banned for 8 games then surely there's grounds to legally set David Bernstein on fire?
-
They'd definitely hammer us though, 5-0 it would be; a Poulsen hatrick.

It might make sense if viewed professionally from an actual marketing perspective and not just some ments kid on a football forum.

I don't think it's ever really been about age with Ben Arfa as the talent and the brain has always been there, it's just his maturity which he seems to have sorted out (hopefully anyway). The injury was obviously a set back but like our relegation it may have been a blessing in disguise, he seems to be coming up to his best along with the rest of our squad. It's mental how exited everyone is for each game nowadays, I actually like football again.

It's pronounced "Our Lord" haha LOL

Yeah, I don't know why I'm continuing the discussion but it's certainly worthy of a thread. I get the idea though, the NWOAT title sounds harsh on a lot of subjects. Get well soon. -
It's actually ridiculous how spot on you've called everything

Honour rules in Premiership football -
The Ben Arfa comp video is good like as theres a lot of footage out there, and I apreciate the effort the guy puts in to making and updating it, but the quality is awful, as is the music, also too many clips repeat for some reason (if I want to watch the Bolton goal again I can just click the video back, it doesn't need to be added again at the end of the video ). We need a 10 minute long 1080p comp with some kinky 80s beats ripping onto Redtube.

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll
Hanshithispantz replied to Pilko's topic in Football
Fletcher who scored more goals than Carroll, for the team that finished rock bottom. Fletcher who has never performed to a level that Carroll has proven he can perform at. I thought Carroll was over-rated when he was with us, I even said so at the time, but there's no way Fletcher can put in the same dominant performances Carroll did when was here. -
Fucking hell man, i'm hoping this is some sort of Aussie in-joke.
