  1. It was a sickener, particularly as we all knew the money was just going to disappear into the aether and not be reinvested.
  2. Yeah but Ashley would sell his Granny if there was a 20% profit in it for him
  3. To allow us to spend £100M for FFP purposes, given a £60m+ profit on someone like Bruno could conceivably allow us to buy 6 players at £50M each amortised over 5 years, providing we keep growing our commercial income. It’s convoluted and I wish as a football fan I didn’t have to try and get my head around this bollocks.
  4. They’re being investigated for breaches during Abramovich's time found by Boehley's lot when going through the books. Given they’ve found wrongdoing themselves and have fessed up, surely they have to receive some sort of punishment? They might be pushing for leniency given change in ownership and honesty, but given the recent punish, ents doled out, they can’t get off Scot free. Surely they're screwed in general soon too, if they don’t get back into the CL soon too I’d imagine
  5. Because their turnover is enough to service that debt comfortably. It does seem to go against the publicly explained reasons for ffp though and also allowed Burnley to be bought with their own money before they were relegated too, if memory serves me right.
  6. Who's chief sports writer is the much maligned and ridiculed Lee Ryder. I mean the joke when I lived back in the North East was you couldn't wipe your arse with the Chronicle, as more shite would come off the paper. Has it ever been terribly accurate other than when the club deliberately fed them stuff?
  7. Not necessarily, that may be due to the fact we feel we can still get a fee for him. This isn’t Ashley’s Newcastle anymore. We will be renewing contracts to protect the club now, rather than because we can’t be arsed to sign new players. i also wouldn’t be surprised if Burn is actually an a relative pittance given the coming home emotional pull.
  8. Depends on what you mean by challenging for Conference places. If we are 10th looking for a run at the end of next season yes. But if we are in touching distance of top four most of the season and drop back into 6/7th, then I’d argue we are par for being 3 full seasons into a project. I think people need to temper expectations, I mean did yesterday not serve as a massive illustration of how far behind City we actually are as a club? It will take time to cement our position and there will be further bumps in the road. Especially given the deliberate road blocks ffp/fmv will cause us at times.
  9. Think the likes of Targett, Lascelles and Krafth will be moved on this summer as a way of freeing up FFP funds, which will see his path to first team minute look less contested. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a similar renaissance for this lad as we've seen for Gordon this year. It takes time for many to get up to speed with Howe's system
  10. It was but I can remember always crediting Pedro with that desire to atone for his mistake, as a big reason I loved the ugly fucker as a player. There are plenty of players with Bruno's talent who don’t possess that attitude and desire to get back and make up for a mistake.
  11. Probably missed the most critical one in Pope. Been why our defence has been sitting deeper and giving opposition No10’s all that space to operate in
  12. Is everybody suddenly forgetting the very deliberate talk by Ashworth around club specific release clauses? I would not be surprised if that clause does not apply to fellow PL clubs, despite them being amongst the few clubs who could afford him. I would imagine if we sell to another PL club it will be for a much larger fee than his rumoured release clause.
  13. What is Chelsea's position going to be if they fail to qualify for the CL again? Man Utd are also already butting up against FFP, hence why they had to loan Arambat. They’re either going to have to change the rules again to suit them, or end up hoisted on their own petards
  14. That’s one of my issues with it, especially given how Chelsea and Man Utd continue to inflate the transfer market. Over three seasons you can now lose a Moises Caicedo. It’s not just at the top end of the market either. Chelsea and City have the whole foreign talented youth segment tied up too.
  15. And Coutinho, Sterling and Suarez. Every club has had to trade players to some extent. The thing we need to get right is who we sell too IMHO. Selling Bruno to PSG or Real, would sting a hell of a lot less than to a fellow PL team
  16. Is he returning from Belgium? Im sure I saw tweets from him rubbishing the claims before Christmas
  17. I find it odd that he has an issue with the trans community using men’s toilets, given that the cigar eye stubbing, wife head kicking wanker, has no balls and a tiny little choad no bigger than a clit himself ??‍♂️
  18. I think another factor that makes this unlikely is how likely are we to allow him to move to Man Utd before September the 1st. Remember the fee we had to pay and the extended gardening leave Brighton made him sit out before he was allowed to join us? There is no way we wouldn’t be insulating ourselves in a similar way, were he to move from us. So are Man Utd happy to hold out for the person they see as the best fit and remain rudderless for the next two windows? Or do they get someone currently available, who can come in and have an immediate effect? Just my two pennies worth
  19. Ritchie's? Is Manquillo in the squad? As he must be off somewhere else soon
  20. Debbie McGee wouldn’t have enjoyed being in the video near that danger Alex James though. Was surprised his name wasn’t in the Epstein papers tbh
  21. I didn’t say it was? I’m well aware of this issues that their redevelopment has caused, but it’s no different to the gentrification that has happened in every city post redevelopment. Abu Dhabi aren’t responsible for the broken U.K. housing market, that existed far before they took over City
  22. Well yes but have Abu Dhabi not completely redeveloped much of east Manchester?
  23. You’re presuming that the owners aren’t intending to do similar to the Man City owners to that deprived area of the city. Was the fact that Newcastle is ripe for redevelopment not part of the appeal?
