Absolutely, but they couldn’t have prevented the injury from occurring or ultimately change the recovery period for that kind of injury. If anything Botman is back significantly quicker than most in that regard. And as for Barnes lots of others have pointed out how this kind of freak injury can be an absolute nightmare to treat and is more common in other sports. He was literally running with no one near him when it occurred. How is that down to club staff exactly?
-
Myself and others have already pointed this out, but given two of the long term injuries have been dislocated shoulders, two of them back fractures, ligament damage for Botman and whatever the hell has gone on for Barnes. What exactly could the club staff have done differently to prevent those injuries? The subsequent overwork recurrent injuries you mention are less likely to happen, if the freak ones hadn’t happened first. The club staff can’t alter our fixture list

Think even last week's result needs some context applying. Luto had just smashed Brighton 4-0 so had their tails right up. And how many other Newcastle teams would have withered away when their 4th went in? if you’d have said before the Villa game we'll get four points from the next two games, most fans would’ve been very happy with that. Does the fact the three of those four points came at Villa Park instead of at home as expected really change that?
-
When did this happen exactly or am I just having a major bout of amnesia. I remember daft individual errors and no doubt teams are better prepared to face us now, which made games more difficult (Durr!). But like I said, in early December we’d beaten Man Utd for the third consecutive time to go fifth, where still in the League Cup QF and had a chance of progressing from our CL group. Then the injuries really bit. Would I like to see us have a bit more tactical flexibility, sure. But I don’t think the system is a broken as some are making out.
-
Is it the system or the individuals we've currently got occupying two of those three slots? Leaving aside the fact we beat a previously undefeated at home resurgent Villa merely days before Luton, do you think Longstaff and Miley are who Howe would be choosing to play both 8 roles given the choice? Or do you think at least one of Joelinton, Willock and Tonali would be in there if available? Look at where this team was in early December despite injuries biting and tell me with a straight face it’s the system. I know everybody is sick of hearing it, but it’s clearly down to the players energy levels as much as the system, although again that’s been disrupted due to the team not being as compact due to Dubravka's inability to sweep as effectively as Pope.

The cheeky twat wants the taxpayer to fund it with "Levelling Up" money ??As Duo had already pointed out -
What kind of shit were you searching on Wiki to find that?

As opposed to being a clairvoyant manager? is the reason Pep is so much better than everyone else, down to pre match seances like?
-
Yeah but he's played less minutes in a better functioning team, arguably in a less critical position on the pitch. He also had a significant loan out at Bolton.
-
He still has a face like a bag of smashed crabs though. I reckon that's why him and Neville work together, pair of rancid, shit haired twats

Just when Liverpool lose?
-
Because he became ill? Because in his last start he had a bit of a 'mare? Because we've not been in a great moment and we need experienced calm heads? Or is it because our manager is a knacker? Honestly the ridiculous flip-flopping of some on this forum makes me wonder if Lithium might be beneficial?

It’s a bit like the housing market conundrum though isn’t it? Do the FFP limits need to change? Or do clubs need to hold firm and allow the market to reset after Chelsea's most recent stint at inflating player values?
-
Like Bellingham even more after that tbf
-
Agree with all that but the standard of football at that level is genuinely appalling. Watched Elgin a few times over the years and seriously I reckon a half decent Northern League Div 2 team would tear them a new one.
-
Was the fact they got relegated last year not in large part due to a horrific injury situation for much of the season? He'll fit right in here ?
-
Definitely get this, NUFC is a long root stretching back home, despite not living in the North East since ‘97. I sometimes think living away has oddly made me more partisan than I would’ve been, if I’d stayed in Bedlington.

Nah, left at the Red Lion past the Golf Course and you’re straight on the A1 man, be there in no time

Did El Haj Diouf not also play for Liverpool and the Mackems too?

How much football do you actually watch to make that assertion? I can honestly say that at least 50% of the midfielders currently plying their trade in the PL are worse than him. But that’s just my eyeball test. It’s worth noting that metrics much like the statistics they’re based on can be manipulated to say pretty much whatever the compiler wants them to highlight. I'd recommend you go back and watch him when he's properly fit, there’s lots of quick intricate passing particularly with Bruno and Willock, often receiving the ball whilst under significant pressure and he generally retains possession. I'm not saying it’s impossible to improve on him, but I’d argue he isn’t the main issue which requires upgrading in our midfield. In fact when everyone is fit, I’d argue our midfield is Ok, we need better numbers from our wide forwards. The drop off from Gordon this season has been massive.
-
Fantasy football has a great deal to answer for, letting stats obsessed knobheads show their face in public, rather than witter away in their parents basement. Just a general observation rather than anything aimed at yourself Jagten btw. And whilst I agree Joelinton's passing isn’t his greatest attribute, you’re obviously watching a different league to me, if you think he’s one of the worst passers in it. It’s also not his main purpose in the team and there are plenty of other metrics where he's was In the 90th percentile across all of Europe's major leagues.
-
Would he really go back to France though? Also the dislike between Qatar and Saudi cannot be overstated
-
The thing that concerns me is who can realistically afford to pay £100M+? In the past Madrid and Barcelona might've been possibilities, but they’re skint. Only a PL rival can afford his fee and that would really sting. Hence why I’m hopeful it’ll be the likes of Wilson, Miggy etc who'll be out of the door this summer rather than Bruno. If he'd wanted Liverpool or similar he could’ve pushed for it last summer, but he didn’t. I think we’ve got under his skin and will have at least one more season with him. Fail to get CL qualification next year again and then he might be off
-
OOOH, I think somebody is ready for their Friday night Baileys

Does he really have a massive connection to them though? Surely he'd have his eye on succeeding Ancelotti if he's ambitious no?
