Commentator noticing that Blackburn are trying to wind Barton up. He describes Barton as a "new, mature, restrained" character. -

Shocker: This match will be broadcast nationwide on Sportsnet. http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/1693/canflageh2.gif Was totally expecting Birmingham-Stoke. -

Can't say this club doesn't sign entertaining players, both for the pitch and for online forums. Kuqi Monster

Bit of a double standard how the hardcore Arsenal fans will look the other way when Fabregas goes after refs, yaps in their faces, waves imaginary cards, etc., or Wenger's regular post-match whingeing about the refs. If folks want to deal in conspiracies -- or just basic human psychology -- Sunday's result was the bed Arsenal made for themselves. If you single out refs, what do you think the rest of the ref fraternity will do, roll over for you or side with their own? Gooner folks need to look in the mirror. Too many metaphors going on here, so I'll just slide down the pole and put this duck to rest for now.

Here it is, if you can get past the BIKINI BABES and VIDEO VIXENS: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/175789/Joey-Barton-to-stay-in-Toon-/

He better be feckin stayin put as I just bought a BARTON 7 shirt to make up for the CARROLL 9 shirt I bought last autumn which is now rendered unwearable shite. http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/5497/angryfiretm3.gif

Wenger's puffy winter coat is more a threat to society than Barton.

Expecting a riotous 1-1 draw, yellow cards flying like canaries. Just a hunch. -

The IOC will not acknowledge it, but Tioté also broke the record in the 100 metres immediately after the goal. -

I missed all of this. Was out of town visiting my folks. Checked the halftime scores and was devastated. Was sitting down to lunch just before noon (in Canada), when all the pictures on the walls started rattling. Checked the scores again: 4-4. Went mad. http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/8594/attachment15phpiz6.gif (parents thinking "What kind of loopy excitable git have we raised?") Got home, read this entire thread. It's like the novel James Joyce never wrote. Found a choice quote from the Guardian online: You people, who have the power to rock Arsenal and rattle picture frames on another continent, you are all class. I LOVE NUFC!!!! -
I didn't mean Nolan's not approachable, just that footballers get so used to talking to the media that they start giving mindless clichéed answers that sometimes come back on them, like this case. Did he think no one in Newcastle would read what he said about Liverpool?
-
Well put. It's a good reminder that footballers talk to the media more than they talk to the fans. So unless he's a contrary prick who likes to get a rise out of people, the average footballer is going to play along with the usual media storylines. And since the media has an eternal love affair with the usual big clubs, it's no surprise Tugboat fawned over Liverpool. Like a cunt.
-
Tugboat talked himself into a corner, he's fucked now whatever he says.
