The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Champions League
ExiledGeordie replied to Rich's topic in Football
So basically assuming we didn’t get anymore points in the last 2 games we would just have to maintain our +7 goal difference? Not that I think this will happen, I think we’ll win Monday and at least draw v Chelsea. -

Fuck me nowt like looking on the positive side ? If that happens we don’t deserve to finish in the top four ffs. -

1 pointed needed from final two games and we could even lose both and if Liverpool don’t overcome our +7 gf we qualify for top four. I feel very chilled. -
No idea but A LOT I reckon ? Jokes aside how much is 4-5 potential starters going to cost? I suppose that'll give a ball park figure. What’s that 200m odd maybe?

I can’t stand them either but I actually know a couple of absolute sound Liverpool fans. Some of the worst are the reds outside Liverpool and especially in London. Klopps antics and the fans behaviour towards us at theirs last august just cements my dislike of them. -
I think there’s probably a few which are already lined up and some which may hinge on top four. Tierney does seem very likely and fits the bill in terms of what we need.

Totally. This window assuming we get champions league could be mental ??

Newcastle United vs. Leicester City: 22/05/23 @ 20:00 (Sky Sports)
ExiledGeordie replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
No chance of complacency, on any given day any team can win or lose in the premier league. We’ll go intense again and even with a few potentially missing we’ll have too much for them. I’m just not convinced they have the fight in them but we can’t assume that. Their defence is absolutely woeful too. There’s a few in the team and the fans who will remember the Leicester fans singing about us going down at there too. -
He’s done mate, back next season

Newcastle United 4-1 Brighton & Hove Albion (18/05/2023)
ExiledGeordie replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
Absolutely woeful and Miggy simply HAS to bury that chance too. Hopefully it’s not a critical moment for us. -
The amount of analysis that goes into our signings they're not going to sign him if there’s a genuine risk he’s going to spend most of the time on the physio plinth. I’m not sure why people get so worried about this. Let the club do their research, investigations, whatever is needed. If we sign him then they clearly have done their background checks and aren’t concerned. I work as a physio so you’d think I’d be mahoosively worried about injury records but it just doesn’t concern me at all. Leave it to the medical team. Same goes for any player really we sign really.

James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)
ExiledGeordie replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
We’ve seen that Howe can improve and transform players to how he wants to be fair -
Be surprised if they signed both given they have Party as well? That would cost fortunes and both similar players surely

The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Champions League

Brighton are a very good side but the way some are talking it’s as if we’re playing City. It’s a tough game but the crowd will be mental and we’re very very hard to beat at home. -
I think the move for Maddison makes real sense for both parties, I can really see him playing at St James and working with Bruno to open up teams. We’ll need that extra creativity in big games, europe and against that defensive set ups at home and really only Bruno runs games at the moment.

If someone had said to us at the start of the season we’d be sitting 3rd on gd with two home games coming up and a chance to wrap up top four people would’ve probably laughed ? Brighton is the key one I feel, what a massive game that is. -
Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)

What does that actually mean? ? -

My only concern is the players looked a bit jaded today, some looked off form and maybe we have a good few who lack experience to close out this situation. Maybe the pressure is getting to them a bit but hardly a surprise. Brighton is the key, it will be tough but I think with the home crowd we’ll beat them then beat Leicester to secure top four. -

I think that’s a bit unfair really. As shit as Leeds have been they are literally fighting to stay up with a little bounce from Fat Sham. Granted we could’ve been better but I think a few underestimated how tough a match it was. Still in our hands. -
Miggy has been average imo, Saint will scare the shit out of Leeds. Gordon to also up the intensity
