Thats what I think will happen mate, I don’t think he’s wedded to the premier league and knows the continents big clubs will be in for him. I think he also has an affinity with Howe, fans etc.

If he’s not on the plane to the far east then I’ll be concerned but I still say he stays for a season. Howe confirmed no official approach from Liverpool so they’ve clearly tried to unsettle the player and we’ll know soon enough if his head has been turned. I think he gives us one more season then goes. We can’t actually afford to lose him this summer though.

Totally agree mate. This is all going to piss Howe off though, I mean he’s worked miracles ffs and the one summer where he needed a rest and let others take control of a crucial transfer window he’s had to step in again because we have no figurehead leading negotiations. We’ve signed one player and wasted weeks and weeks chasing players who’ve ended up signing for other clubs in a matter of days. The off the field stuff is embarrassing and needs sorting.

We can’t compete financially wages wise with the tradition big 6 and it’s obviously costing us signings, just look at who we’ve missed. But that begs the question what’s the point in going for them in the first place? The sporting director situation or complete lack of this summer is hurting us too, the Mitchel situation has been a complete mess. We’re four years into the takeover and we’ve still got people including the manager scrabbling around doing extra roles. Eales needs replacing and we need a new sporting director in ASAP. We’re not behaving like an elite club off the pitch. Edit: on Eales, he’s been out the door for a year now ffs, the club needs to pull Its finger out and get moving, need action.

We could probably get 120m next summer even with two years left on his contract. Premier league placing, CL campaign and re qualifying for the CL all mean millions. Unless the lad states he wants to go there’s literally no point in selling him this summer.

Yeah and I don’t see Isak tarnishing his time here by trying to force a move out. Another season in the CL, try and re-qualify for the CL. He knows there’ll be a list of suitors from across the continent next summer and he’ll probably get an increased contract this summer. We’ll still get a boat load of cash next summer if as expected he moves then.

I think we’ll give him more money with a release clause of sorts for next summer. Hes not going to sign a long contract and price himself out of any more with no release clause. I also don’t think he’ll force a move.

All the journos at that end of season true faith event said we’d probably sell him to the continent next summer rather than strengthen Liverpool this summer. Players wishes and money usually talks but I think he’ll stay this season. We’ll give him a new contract with a release clause.

Well summed up. My hope is he realises how important he is for the club for CL and potentially re-qualifying for the CL and gives us another season with the sweetener of a new contract to keep him sweet.

Agree mate, it’s football, huge wages and the chance to win stuff will often sway players. I guess if he decides he wants to go this summer then we say fair enough but it’ll cost north of 150m. Like you I think he’ll probably stay this season and go next summer, everything so far indicates that he has a fair bit of respect for the club and likes it here, the fans etc. But you never know, it’s down to him at the end of the day.

His departure will probably open up the arrival of a really solid player for us.

Only way he goes this summer is if he agitates for a move. I think he keeps his options open next summer with more teams.
