I think he’ll be colossal for us next season and it’s exciting to see what Tonali will be able to do in that midfield with him.

As you say it’s a mixture of both as factors. More games and including those of higher quality with a depleted squad puts pressure on the players in a smaller rotation. As a physio myself and looking at it from that angle I definitely think there’ll be a review of some sort to look at decisions which were made in certain situations by the medical team. Are players being brought back too quickly at times, are there enough concrete decisions being made to stop players trying to force themselves back too early? I don’t know I’m just surmising. That said there have been a few freak injuries which have then healed more pressure on the squad. I’m sure everything will be looked at to see what they can do better as you can always improve every aspect of your club. I do also wonder if Howe will have a think about how he manages the team in certain situations moving forwards. Is there a way he can play in games where he drops the intensity a bit when there’s a boat load of injuries.

Ofcourse he’s gone 😂 We seem entirely happy to sit and wait this one out for the appropriate financial settlement and rightly so.

Our issue remains the lack of any options off the bench. I’d the crowd and players are fired up we can win but as the game goes on Spurs will be able to effect the game more form the bench which might swing it.

I think Trippier might go and it wouldn’t surprise me if Targett moved for more game time. That said if it’s true and he’s on 100k (find that hard to believe) then he will be hard to shift. LB is currently a weak area though. This summer will be very interesting to see what happens in all sorts of positions.

I would only add that we probably need two CBs now. One “marquee” signing and one dependable as Botman Lascelles out long term.

There’s a good chance Bruno goes, selling Isak too risks wrecking too much of our progression and a massive negative reaction from fan base. Sends out completely the wrong message regarding ambition.

Had this exact conversation with a Villa fan who was a patient at work. He was saying exactly this.

I think this is it essentially. Will be sad that he goes but feels inevitable. The sale will at least help fund a rebuild.

Isak needs to bury that chance second half and then a brainless act at the end by Dummett, otherwise we win. Last night highlighted again how much deadwood we have in the squad and how weak we are when so many key players are out.

I think Bruno is gone in the summer, I don’t think we’ll sell Isak as well. The only way he goes I think is if he agitates for a move.

Assuming there’s a fair chance Bruno might go, seems a big risk to shift two major players on and strikers are hard to find. I feel we haven’t seen the best of Isak yet too potential wise. The worry would be if Arsenal come in for him will his head be turned? I’m not saying he’d force a move but you could see why he’d be keen.

I think if Isak definitely needed surgery you’d imagine it would happen around now tho the Botman situation makes you wonder about issues like that. Fwiw I was chatting to my local journo mate and he was chatting to one of the Arsenal correspondents (Athletic maybe?) who was pretty convinced Arsenal are going to come sniffing around for Isak in the summer.

I really like Barnes as a player but I agree it was odd to sign another LW when RW urgently needed upgrading.
