Paul Mitchell to leave club by mutual consent at end of June (Official)

From some of the Craig Hope quotes he sounds like a bit of a social hand grenade who wonāt be missed. -
Nobody knows for sure but Iāve seen 200m banded about transfer kitty wise? Whatās peoples rough guess?

It would be great if we brought in at least one signing in in this first window.

So is everything going to go radio rental with all club s transfers on June 1st and for the ensuing 10 days of the first 10 days?
-
I think heās definitely shown flashes and looks like he could be a player so I think itās unfair to say heās useless etc. he certainly looked lively when he came on against Everton. Heās fast, strong, quick turns, must be very difficult to play against. If weāre relying on him as a backup option weāre knackered though.

who were you expecting?

Yeah exactly this, Iām not worried about its impact on making signings this window but we will need someone to oversee football specific operations moving forwards however that role is defined moving forwards. -

The way Pickford happily spreads the ball around you can see why we want to go down that route.
-
Douglas thought theyād go big on RW and R CB first and then see what they can do.
-
Poor wording from me š
-
240m, 60m x 4, sorry just to clarify
-
Totally agree, we donāt have anyone who can pull something out of their arsenal against a tight defence.
-
Luke Baldwards saying last night heād been told/made aware (I know I know š) that we couldnāt spend 60m on 4 players. Make of that what you will. Douglas was sat next to him and didnāt saying anything I donāt rmemebr.
-
Yes I think heāll go abroad personally and there was the assertion that weād be less likely to sell to another premier league team to avoid strengthening them.
-
On Isak opinion was that next summer we and him will have a decision to make and heāll be approaching the point of career where he may look to the continent for a tilt a league titles etc (and a massive contract) and if we want a few itāll probably have to be then. I think heās here likely one more season or two absolute max but thatās just my opinion.
-
Fair enough, I didnāt get that impression at all but each to their own. It was a discussion with people giving their opinion not saying categorically āthis will happenā.
-
Yeah I think the consensus was theyād probably sell on balance if they get the right price. Bit of discussion about how heās had one good season and itās been with us and he needs to be reminded of that. already forced his way out of one club, needs to avoid pissing another group of fans off etc, not a young man anymore and approaching crucial point of his career.
-
No but then I wasnāt going expecting to find out who all our exact transfer targets were š Was still an enjoyable discussion either way.
-
I went to The true faith thing last night, on transfers the consensus from the journos was: we are the perfect footballing choice for Delap but heāll probably choose a fatter contract cash wise elsewhere (all 3 journos), Gordon the most likely to go of the big names, has pretty much checked out last summer and thought on the way to Liverpool plus pivotal season coming up (Edwards), Isak unlikely to sign a new contract unless it has a release clause - more likely to be sold to the continent when he does go (Bayern, PSG, Barca, Real etc) all journos. Will go big on two players and then see what they can do from there and trying to get someone in in first window early June where itās meant to be very very busy for everyone (Douglas). Willock, Longstaff, Wilson all obviously likely to go. Pressure on Mitchel (all journos). Nothing groundbreaking but it was a good listen.
-
By all accounts Delap is looking mainly at the ££££
-
I would I rather he was old and a midfielder brought in who has a more defined position or can do something different.
