My guess is we go to the continent and get a new CB for 35ish but you hope Mitchel has some Forest CB style bargains. RW is the one position where I think they might spunk the most money and maybe go for an Mbuemo type signing but again Mitchel might have some good options. While in no way would I want Bruno to go I just wonder if someone comes nibbling and with his stock pretty high after winning the cup would we consider selling him this summer? He is the Captain though.

We need an elite RW and new pacey R CB and probably new keeper. Stuff after that includes solid back up striker, maybe an attacking midfielder option, good quality squad additions etc. If we get champions league I think this summer will be really exciting and we could have a really strong side next season.

Probs need 2-3 yrs to have that squad in place what with PSR. Other teams and fans know it’s coming though (Villa will also get a lot stronger over next few years too).

What happens with the back up striker option?

Not a chance he leaves if we get CL and significantly bolster the squad. If we get Europa league and bolster the squad he probably still stays but being out of the CL does increase the chances of him going imo. Hes that good though he’s almost pricing himself out of a move particularly with 3 years left. I almost wouldn’t be surprised that the next club he goes to is Real Madrid or something.

It’s just a huge release of pressure from everyone connected with the club that we’ve finally won a trophy. Amazing stuff.

More pace at CB, a bonafide goal threat/game changer at RW and probably an attacking midfielder option is what’s needed. But I guess Gk will also be addressed and Wilson will have to be replaced if he goes.

Yeah assuming none of our big players leave bringing in a few key players will take us up another level again. You get the feeling Trafford is coming in and I think CB and RW will be the two main signings.

I could see Bruno going for some reason mainly because he’s that little bit older. His stock is pretty high after winning the cup and someone might come in for him in the summer, maybe a CL club on the continent. He might feel its job done and move on but qualifying for the CL this season might change all that.

Brentford are the classic spoilers in the league, difficult to play against. If we can out them away then I’m pretty confident we can go to Leicester and win. We should be putting Man U away at home and then it’s the game in hand v Palace before Villa away. Those first four games are crucial really but I think Howe and the players will be determined to push on and get 4th or 5th.

We’ll be offloading a few too so that’ll give us room to bring players in in terms of wage bill even if we haven’t got much in the way of transfer fees for them - Wilson, Lascelles etc

Yeah I was thinking they might go biggish on a CB and RW and then maybe a couple squad signings or something like that.

I suppose it’ll be interesting to see how much we have to spend given how frugal we’ve had to be recently and with the recent outgoings in Jan.

I think what i meant was a striker who is an option to start to replace Wilson, so yeah basically a back up option.

“If” we get CL how many potential starters do you reckon we’ll sign in the summer? GK, CB, RW, striker? Edit: Maybe that just read how many starters do you think will come in, they just might vary depending on where we finish in the league re European competition.

I don’t see any reason why we can’t finish ahead of Chelsea and City aren’t exactly firing on all cylinders. Forest look like they’ll keep going but it only takes a small swing for us to close the gap to them.

We’ll need a squad with Europe so he might well stay as he knows he’ll get game time. Interesting to see what happens in the summer.

Brentford at home is an awkward but very winnable game and then it’s Leicester away followed by Man Utd and Palace at home. There’s a real chance for us to cement a top 5 challenge in those fixtures.

I know the focus ins the cup but others form and results this weekend gives me bags of hope for CL qualification.

I feel “relatively” relaxed about it. They are definite favourites and I’m not expecting a win but we have a definite chance that’s for sure. Players will have learnt from two years ago, just hope we give it a proper go. Silverware would be amazing today but it’ll come soon, club is only getting better.
