  1. I agree could be huge for us this season. If they get the balance right Joelinton, Bruno and him could be some midfield.

Would be huge if we can pull this off, makes our back line so much stronger. He can go up against physically strong strikers and is quick. Looks good on the ball and fits in with the no dick head policy šŸ¤ž Id almost be content with this and then making do at RW with what we have.

I think it could still happen but we’re probably looking at viable ā€œback upā€ options to Schar too now.
  4. Pope and Willock staying fit and Tonali’s return could be huge. I think Kelly will prove to be an excellent acquisition too.
  5. Agreed. ā€œIfā€ the window closes and we dont bring in a single first 11 starting option that’s a major disappointment.
  6. With absolutely no injuries maybe especially with a fit Willock and Tonali coming back. We do have a lot of quality I agree and the window has been a ā€œsuccessā€ so far in terms of keeping the big hitters but as it stands not to add any starting first 11 options ie CB and RW would be a real disappointment for me (caveat there’s still time. Just my opinion obviously.
  7. 2 new starters at RW and CB I think we’re looking at 4th or 5th. The squad as it is with inevitable injuries (hopefully nowt like last season) I think we’re looking at 5th to 7th.
  8. This board is on the verge of implosion if we don’t get one šŸ˜‚
  9. We’ve got all the right people in the right places now. Mitchel is known for unearthing gems and I’m sure we’ll see those in the medium and long term. Occasionally when a big player becomes available though there’s no harm in going for them whether it’s a Howe biased, Mitchel biased or dual decision. Like any working relationships one needs to respect the others viewpoint otherwise it won’t work. For what we need right now Howe and Mitchel are ideal.
  10. I think his point is you’re insinuating that Howe has no control over transfers moving forwards? I don’t see that working either. Plus we don’t know whether Guehi was exclusively a Howe choice, there’s usually a collective decision on targets.

Ah well would’ve been a nice signing this one. I feel quite relaxed about this now but just a bit concerned about the lack of depth behind Schar. Who knows maybe this can be rekindled and it’s still all posturing from both sides or we can hopefully get another option in then move for that RW spot.
  12. Was listening to an interview with Henry Winter on tf previewing the season and on players he said Madueke if we could get him would be ideal for that RW.

    We’ll agree to disagree šŸ‘šŸ˜‚

While I’m desperate for us to sign a RW, we’re royally fucked if we get an injury to Schar.

Well the deal isn’t exactly dead yet, but it does seem unlikely now. I still think we’ll sign a CB and RW by the end of the window as well have other targets. Still 2.5 weeks but clock is ticking for sure.

I think if we’ve gone in with a genuinely fair offer (in our view) with add ons that increase the amount and they’ve still said you can feel you’ve gone as far as you can. I agree Palace can rightly try and bleed us for every penny and they not going to just hand him over but there’s a tipping point isn’t there. They might price him out of a move and end up losing money. Someone else might come in and give them 70m who knows. I guess the point is if you feel you’ve offered a fair amount for the player and haven’t taken the piss and they still say no you eventually have to walk away.

Just watched that video and yeah I’m inclined to agree with moving on now sadly. 70m (if that’s what they want) is too much for me. We’ve made our 3 bids, they don’t think it’s enough, move on to other targets.
  18. I guess it just depends how far apart they are. Also if the Madueke deal is very doable they may decide to cut their losses as you say.
  19. Apparently miles apart on valuation so very unlikely this happens
  20. Yeah Bowen would cost an absolute fortune ffs šŸ˜‚
  21. Yeah you’d hope Guehi comes in, a few go out last minute with a RW coming in last minute. That’s my guess anyway.
  22. Im coming round to the idea that we can ā€œmanageā€ the RW position with various options. It’s less than ideal but if Guehi signs that strengthens the team far more. I’m still pretty hopefully that before the end of the window we’ll have another RW option too though.

Would certainly be a massive boost going into the first game if this was confirmed next week.
