  1. A little underwhelmed I'll be honest, but the position we're in, we would of had to have luck on our side for any top manager to be willing to take us on. Good luck to Howe and hopefully he can build a dynasty here. Would be the fairy tale that most of us deserve. Optimistic for the future.
  2. Someone had a heart attack at the opening Coventry game this season. No stoppage and the fella died bless him.
  3. Robert, Nobby and Hatem highlights for me. Getting goose bumps!! Last game I went to was the draw with Hull when all the sackpardew.com banners come out. I had people moaning at me to fuck telling me to sit down while they just ate up the shite that was served. So glad I can actually look forward to a decent road trip up to the Toon again
  4. Fat joint and old highlights. Still not sank in.. tempted for a 4 hour drive from Coventry to celebrate.
  5. Either we scrape the jammiest 1-0 win or get hammered 6-0+.. Brucey is here for the duration whatever happens.
  6. Said this since the day we played Hull and the sackpardew signs were handed out. People were going mad at anyone who was holding them?? This is when I lost hope. Look how quiet this forum is on a match day now. Nobody can be arsed anymore, but who can blame them?
  7. £350m is a big cow 30M per annum is a much bigger cash cow than an one off 350M Have a look at the profit and loss each year since he took over then and it is nowhere near 30 million each year in fact it amounts to £27 million before tax profit over his full ownership. Let's not get facts in the way though. I keep seeing people post stats showing he hasn't made much money off NUFC each year. He might be losing money sometimes from us but has probably made that 5x over in free worldwide advertising.

Cool. So he played upfront as a lone striker then? Mainly yeah, was out on the right wing a bit too. Linked up well with James Maddison.

Was at the game, he looked quality. His movement on and off the ball was second to none. Didn't struggle too much with the defenders despite the size difference. I'll be at most Coventry games so will update when he's playing.
  10. If Ashley has hired Kinnear to get rid of Pardew, then who in their right mind is going to want to manage us? He'd basically be stabbing Pards in the back, can't see anyone wanting to work for a conniving owner.
  11. Stuck my last 3 quid in my account on Cov,Brentford and Accrington returned £120.75.
  12. Brad Inman has just scored his 2nd tonight for Crewe against Coventry.

Just got back, was sitting in the Holte End with a Villa friend, even some of their lot were shouting "HOOF!" at us in the 2nd half. Fair enough Villa came out a different team 2nd half, but it was no excuse for not trying to push on and extend our lead. As soon as Pardew noticed Villa had a bit of fire in their belly he shut up shop, luckily it worked tonight but more often than not it doesn't. The last 20-30 minutes were embarressing, struggling to get past the halfway line and I can't remember many long balls to Shola working. Jonas was shocking all game, extremely poor touch, doesn't even offer us much defensively any more. Don't know why he's in the first XI even without the new lads.
  14. Temped for Newcastle -1, Watford -1. £10 returns £165.
  15. Again we've not really been pushing on after we take the lead and it costs us dearly. Absolute disgrace.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Just heard on Sky Sports Radio that he will consider leaving if offers come his way in the summer, have they just twisted the comments from that french interview?

If form doesn't improve in the next few games, it's only a matter of time before players are going to start losing confidence in him (if they haven't already). Some of the recent subs/tactics (Obertan subbed at Everton, going 4-4-2 after playing well 4-2-3-1) have been baffling me, so god knows what the players must be thinking.
  18. From the BBC : "We had a great start, I thought it was pretty even for long periods. They have a lot more experience and quality on the pitch than perhaps we did tonight. "We had big players missing, but our effort was outstanding and I can't fault them for that, they gave everything. "If we can get a bit more quality back in the team and maybe one or two in, which is probably important now, we'll be OK."
  19. Said it after the Wigan game that when we're ahead, we never really seem to really push on for another. Wigan is the only game we've won with more than a 1 goal advantage. Goal difference really could bite us on the arse at the end of the season. If we haven't made some progress both with signings and results by the end of January, Pards needs to go.
  20. Did anybody watch the Zidane-Ronaldo charity game? Suprised it hasn't been mentioned.
  21. Doncaster at 18/5 with betvictor away at Swindon. Doncaster have won their last 4 away games in the league while Swindon haven't been great at home. Well worth a punt at that price.

We did alright tonight, but one thing that I've noticed with Pardew is that we're always happy with a 2/3 goal lead. Noticed it again tonight when we were 3-0 up, had the chance to counter from a corner, but nobody was pushing forward and the ball went back to Wigan. The 1-3 at West Brom last season the same kind of thing happened, we played some amazing stuff first half, but we just seemed to be content with having a decent lead with chances coming here and there. My memory isn't the best but I think the last time we scored 4 goals in a game was Wolves at home in 2010-11? Don't get me wrong i'm over the moon with the win,but we could of raped Wigan tonight and we just went a bit flat after we were comfortable. Does my head in that we've not gave anybody a thrashing for ages.
