Main issue for me was midfield where nothing stuck and more importantly every 2nd ball was lost . Inability to compete , where bodily positions was so wrong on so many occassions, meant our midfielders ahead of the ball and left chasing once the ball was lost. Supposedly athletic strong trio second to everything, plus forwards inability to hold and retain possession. Wolfe really needs to get his shit together , constantly losing first challenge, operating at same level of ball retention as Murphy. Basics of passing and movement just not there. For me Eddys key issue is the midfield. We have depth in numbers and a good mix of skills and technique but the right mix and balance as a unit is not there ,certainly this year. At times last year we did boss midfield in some matches but not in all styles of opponents setup. Currently it’s not working so he has to solve the problem with the resources he has. Of course the other parts of the team affect how successful the midfield is but if he can get the balance and mix right so we are competitive in the middle in every game that would be a step forward for me. Challenge is that means a degree of change/experimentation beyond Sandro/Bruno/Big Joe.

Thought Anderson looked like a disruptor in midfield, obviously the legs went but a different midfielder with agression and with more games could bring more balance.

If he can maintain that confidence and level Anderson is worth keeping for the next half season , a goal or two and he could be this seasons Joelinton , really symbolic and and uplifting. Worst case it doesn’t work so a second half loan to help his development.
