  1. That comment has nothing to do with how well the team are playing without him. I think his off field comments have led to some anger which has then drifted to them criticising his qualities on field. He was a big contender for man of the match against Cardiff away, got injured whilst with Argies, came back last Saturday and was looked average and lacking a bit of match sharpness! The stick on here that he's been getting is very harsh from a playing perspective.
  2. Don't get how Colo has suddenly become this shambles of a defender on here over recent weeks. Truly baffled by it all!
  3. Rightly so. Had to be down to Colo/MYM for the drop. Be very surprised if it's not Colo given the nod. Personally would like MYM but no complaints if it is Colo, nice to have such good competition for places.
  4. Would depend if Varela got any game time? Pretty sure if he came on as a sub at any point the bet would be activated, if unused sub it would just go on the Porto win. Nope. Bet is void as soon as he's not starting. Thought it would just be like a first goal scorer bet where if he comes on in the 93rd minute at 0-0 you lose your money if he doesnt score first.
  5. Sell and gamble on Will Hughes stepping up to the PL. Can't be long before someone takes the gamble on him.
  6. I don't think we really sat back in that game, they scored straight after half time from a set piece, we were trying to break them down they were catching us out on the break. Things weren't going our away on the attacking front, Ben Arfa was having an absolute stinker, he could hardly control a ball. we lost that game due to Pardew not having an answer to Hull's change after the first goal went in. Everton first half would have been a better game to choose if you wanted to put your point forward, we sat back and got passed off the park.
  7. How come? Cardiff second half/Liverpool second half/Chelsea first half/Spurs second half/Norwich second half? 3 goals conceded and only dropped points against Liverpool with 10 men. That's a fair return really so i wouldn't say we aren't very good at it.
  8. He was being touted with a move away in the summer for 4 million. He clearly hasn't hit the heights West Brom thought he would when they paid 6/7 million for him. I've got nothing against Long, i do like him but he's a squad player and not someone you want starting for you week in, week out. Just don't think we should be looking to panic over our CB's not being able to handle him when he's nothing special. Yes he's had a couple of decent games against us in the past but most strikers we come against will have some sort of history against us if they've been in this league long enough.
  9. It would have been nice to sign Long from Reading when West Brom grabbed him but he's hardly set the place alight and something we’ve massively missed out on. He’s had decent spells on the bench during his time there and been in and out of the team. He's found his form over recent weeks and looking like his former self but people are going way overboard on him. For me just an average PL striker with excellent work rate and attitude. Capable of long spells without scoring and capable of going on a little run all the same. Nothing to sing and dance about here and shouldn’t be panicking to the threat he brings on Saturday.
  10. Still expect these to finish 5th, they aren't play as bad as everyone is making out. Actually fancy them to beat Man Utd at the weekend. As people are rightly pointing out however, would help their cause if AVB had more of clue what his best 11 is, seems very stange how long he's took to introduce lamela to his first league start. I do think they will continue to improve and get stronger as the season progresses. A quick dive out of the Europa League would help their cause.
  11. Ozil didn't deserve a re-take, shocking pen

    Loïc Remy

so he scores in the first half, plays pretty well, and you're now saying Pardew should have subbed him after 50 minutes? I bet if he had done you'd be on here slating him for being too negative by hooking Remy so early. Mick's comment It's as if he were manager he would have known Remy was going to have a quiet half after 5 minutes of the second half resuming and hauled him off Players like Remy you keep on the pitch simply because they can create something out of nothing even if they aren't having a good game or are quiet. Ridiculous to even think we had fans wanting him off after 50 minutes on Saturday

    Papiss Cissé

So did he just have a lucky three consecutive seasons in the Bundesliga and Premier League where he played 81 games and scored 52 goals? I still don't believe he's just fluked it before hand and this is his true quality, I still think he can be a very good striker but its obviously not happening for him here. To be honest I don't think he has the desire here for whatever reason. Look at him like this; He can't dribble, he can't create, he's not quick, he's average in the air, he's not going to jump many centre half's and he's weak to boot. I'm just calling it as I see it Cisse and Colo have been totally demolished on here, you would think we have a couple of pub players in our ranks.
  15. Be surprised if people wait that long.
  16. We may as well just release Colo now from this post. I was thinking that. Makes Colo sound pathetic.
  17. What happens to the bosmans who haven't been signed by the 11th? Do you just put your name down again for the next match or just turn up and hope some people haven't arrived?
  18. Still need a 'preferred position' off you, bud. It's all provisional at the moment, but it will just help when divvying-out the 'bosmans'. RB/RM. The forums Debuchy Far from Debuchy, he's too wild. More of an Anita I just guessed CM would be filled

  20. Santoon has went from Michael Carrick to James Perch in the space of a few hours

    Alan Pardew

    That's the question today.

    Shola Ameobi

Have you never watched him/us over the years? The bloke puts in one half decent performance once in a blue moon, then it's back to the shambles we all are used too. Don't think now after a decade of his s**** that all of a sudden he is going to start being a consistent performer. Never said he would be I just think he's been decent since Man City and has helped us in the system of 4-4-2 and Remy has worked well off him when they have played along side each other. I'm happy to stick with it against West Brom rather than change formation and tactics to get rid of Shola after Norwich game.
