  1. The thing about Anita covering the back 4 is he can actually tackle. With Colback the ball's been and gone long before he lunges in with a pashun challenge. I hope Anita plays a much bigger role under SM this season. Our midfield was so disjointed last season and all a bit of a mess, if SM finds a good balance and style with Wijnaldum/De Jong, Anita would revel in the role sitting behind them imo.
  2. Thought he was painful to watch this morning. He still persists with just chasing the ball whenever it's within a radius of 20 yards of him. It's like he hasn't progressed from the primary school stage where you don't just go chasing after the football. This current side has real potential but if he is selected to lead them, it will massively set us back.
  3. There's no chance of a game of darts in PopWorld, blame Kev
  4. Well that was some weekend. My body is certainly suffering, even had a day of rest yesterday but still feel awful today at work. Well worth it though. As for Saturday, my night rapidly declined after Gotham's trebs and skittles, standard stuff. Great to see everyone again, always a pleasure.
  5. I'll be right on cue as well, just like my hangover this morning.
  6. I'll be in for the meal, if it's not too late to join the party?
  7. It can't be the one of here then.
  8. @brett1892: Now Shearer has joined Twitter, I don't feel like I can bitch behind his back about his awful punditry. What a number 9 he was though... Just thought I'd clarify my own Twitter thoughts on Big Al joining Twitter.
  9. Hard to give someone a proper chance when they are rarely fit for a sustainable amount of games. He's been with us for 5/6 year now, been highly regarded for the majority of it but hasn't proved himself enough. Sent back from Cardiff because of injuries, didn't pull up any trees in league 1 and now found a bit of fitness and form so he should now be with us? I think his time here is up but it was neither Newcastle nor Vuckic's fault that he never fulfilled his potential, another promising youngster savaged by injuries which has seemingly ruined his career chances at the top level.
  10. If you're watching Paul Dummett in your position whilst you're on the bench, i'd be pretty pissed off as well. He'd been on our bench for over a month and his only game time was Leicester, was an absolute joke. Even when Dummett had to fill in at CB, Haidara was then chosen. Not sure how long Carver actually expected a nailed on first teamer to wait for a chance, load of bollocks by him.
  11. Aye, but he often f***s us with his basic understanding of where to stand on a pitch, he just vacates the midfield, to go chasing the ball, it's properly school yard That side of things become more evident when it's only him and Sissoko in the middle as they both go covering every blade of grass in search of the ball, then we literally have nobody in middle. Pop Abeid in who will generally hold the position in the middle, then those two don't look like complete muppets as much. Need to find that balance in the middle but ideally it would be without Colback anyways.
  12. Colback in the middle or left back, it doesn't really change much. After the game, you'd say 'he's worked hard, didn't do much wrong but he's contributed nothing of note'. He's just bang average and that's it. He'll do a 6/10 job in most games wherever he is positioned and that's enough to earn a career in the PL these days. Shame his career at present is with us though, much rather some other shite club in the PL would take him instead.
  13. Why? Quite a likable chap I reckon. Hated the massive media hype when he broke through and now it's got way out of hand recently. He's painful to listen too in his interviews. The whole 'one of our own' crack is terrible by Spurs fans as well. I did doubt his overall ability at first, he's certainly won me over in that aspect. Still can't stand the Kane bandwagon though.
  14. I hate Harry Kane with a passion, like. Livid anytime he scores.
  15. Dreadful, why 'GK' was one of my opt out positions
  16. All these french names look so similar, struggling to work out who is meant to be who. Know very little about any of them. I'd still take them regardless though.
  17. Think the right decision has been made but he can count himself very lucky that Oldham have handed him the chance. Personally feel once his time has been served he should be allowed to live his life back in society and carry on with his life and if he would like football to be part of that, then that's fair enough imo.
  18. Couldn't see anything than a win up until Wednesday night. The last thing we needed an absolute trouncing and a goalkeeping performance from hell. Saying that, i think having Colo back in a derby game will be absolutley vital. He's been a massive loss in previous games regardless if people think he's finished/shit. Nervous but hoping we can hold it all together for once and get the much needed win.
  19. Anyone know any decent bars in town that are definitley showing the match tonight?
  20. Not feeling a hammering coming on, seen Spurs a fair few times this season and haven't looked the best. Can't see us getting anything though given how badly we've been playing but think we'll compete at the very least and probably end up like the City game in the first game of the season.
  21. Team D were the winners in my eyes. Takes a lot to of courage and pride to salvage a win in the wooden spoon match after back to back matches with no points on the board. Cracking little tournament played in good spirit, hopefully become an annual event in memory. Look forward to meeting up with everyone at some point today.
  22. Board height rules with no ref, we are just asking for controversial decision making here... seen this escalate in my years down there Any sort of colour tops needed per team or we just getting the bibs on the go?
