Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

Nope -
Am I massively out of step, I don’t think I’ve rated Kolo Muani that highly. I don’t watch them play much these days but can’t remember ever being blown away by him

That’s pathetic (the chants / songs) -
I think it would help us yeah, our wage bill is clearly something we’re very closely managing. We are Kelly down and Burn can’t play there but Hall, Tino and Trippier are all options before Targett anyway. So I don’t think there’s huge risk in shipping Targett out
-
Essential we get Targett off the books. Any actual interest in him reported?
-
It’ll be a loan and no chance of a buy at the end of it
-
The spectre of Marc Guehi. That transfer effort damaged us so much

Members should be the same price as season ticket holders and Mags+ given how much of a ripoff it is for most people in terms of actual games they get to go to -
This type of thing is essential given our transfer difficulties. We have to bring players through and we should hopefully start to see it this season given that the talent of our academy has dramatically improved since the takeover
-
Well yeah, unless someone like Miley can properly break through then we will be getting injuries which will then result in other players getting game time. Fairly resigned to the fact we’ll be getting a lot of injuries this season
-
Not particularly likely given the precedent Howe has set. He’ll be playing our best available 11 in CL games and in the league almost all the time
-
The two go hand in hand though, the smaller your squad the more injuries you get if you have additional games to play
-
Hasn’t he already said he doesn’t want to come here?
-
Please take him Villarreal even if it’s only a loan
-
I do think he gets his head up looking to pass and he has decent awareness but I think he messes it up a lot. I think Howe would do wonders for him but I don’t think him and Isak fit together at all and he is ready to be / already is a first choice striker in the league so he’s not going to be too happy shifting clubs to be second choice again
-
Really? What about him makes you rate his footballing intelligence? I’d say he makes bad decisions often
-
Jackson definitely has more upside than Nunez. I think their footballing brains are their weakest qualities but Jackson has more useful attributes and is younger. Nunez is so good at finding space but so awful with his decision making a lot of the time and his build up play is shocking
-
Given that we’ve painted our colours to the mast in making him our no. 1 goalie target it would be a nightmare to not sign him given the only other name we were closely linked with was Mamardashvilli who signed for the rats
-
Yes
-
No, we’ve sold him because we have someone lined up for CM. We wouldn’t be selling him otherwise
-
I think this is fair, sadly
-
We know that our targets are quality, it’s our approach that has changed. Nickson will still have players who are earlier on in development that he thinks we should go for, we’ve just changed our approach to go for established players as Eddie can’t really run the risk of having to bed in multiple players of the course of a season with some getting no game time
-
We go younger and less established, probably continental. No idea who though
-
My issue with not getting Trafford would be less about not getting him and more about who we would get instead. I’m confident we’ll bring in quality at CB and FW/AM but GK, I’m a lot less confident
