  1. Give it another thirty years and literally everyone will be harking back to better times in terms of work, sports, quality of life, apart from the 0.000001%
  2. Agreed, I have no real take on the whole “Saudis don’t care about us anymore” argument. Ultimately, we’ve learned that they have other priorities ahead of us but not really learnt how important we are in the last two years. Whether that’s down to a lack of interest or PSR regulation hamstringing us or PIF being a convoluted mess when it comes to sign off is difficult to discern. It’s potentially a mixture of all three. What can’t be denied is that for whatever reason we are a mess off the pitch and until some of the things you highlighted are sorted - namely Sporting Director, CEO, Training facilities, Stadium, major Sponsorships - we’re going to be in this limbo space of not moving forward properly as a club
  3. It’s not going to get looked at though and it’s only going to get worse. This is how capitalism works. It’s never ever enough for the people at the top of the pile
  4. This is dystopian shit
  5. If Berger didn’t know where she was going to place it already she’d have figured it out from that run up. You can’t run from that angle and not place it there, so stupid
  6. Money’s going to drain for the game as it becomes less competitive and even more disconnected from the everyday fan. The fat cats are in it for money and they’re so fucking greedy that they’re going to lose out on the thing they crave most
  7. Frankfurt are getting a ransom here. I think Ekitike will make a massive success of it but it’s stupid money. Can’t believe how out of control it is nowadays. When is it going to stop inflating?
  8. Incredible save from Berger for Germany
  9. Another awful pen in the women’s euros. The amount of pens that are aimed a few inches to the left or right of centre with only moderate power are ridiculous, all at keeper blocking height too
  10. He was lauded as one of the best young striker prospects over a year ago. Now, he can’t find a suitor in the PL and he’s gone on loan abroad and can’t find a permanent move. Fair play, it’s an amazing place to play your football and a million miles away from a failure but in footballing terms relative to where he was 18-24 months ago it’s a huge drop
  11. I’m one of the most glass half full people on the forum. It’s an incredibly important quote because it was totally unnecessary to say and Howe always picks his words carefully so he’s chosen those words for a reason
  12. There will be a reason Howe has made those comments, I reckon it’s to put pressure on people within NUFC to meet Isak’s contract demands. He’d never comment like that without a purpose
  13. “At this moment in time, I expect him to come” It’s about as damning a quote as you’re ever going to get out of Howe
  14. Rare to see someone’s career nosedive so hard at that age
  15. Fair comments, I don’t doubt the industry but we clearly have a very rigid set up, a very small scouting team and a very small negotiating team. Therefore I totally understand why Howe is not confident. Let’s hope the one thing we can control - our rigidity - changes before the end of the window
  16. If all those things happened it would completely turn the tide and we’d be going into the season in amazing shape. Even half of those things would be great (if stadium announcement was included)
  17. Aye, but late window when prices are sky high because teams can’t get replacements and a lot of the best options will already have gone. Not the time you want to have a lot of money really compared with early in the window
  18. Doesn’t bear thinking about and I really like Osula. Would prefer him on the right for the time being as I don’t think he has figured out how to play CF positionally yet. Gordon is a million miles away from being a striker, would prefer Barnes there over Gordon
  19. My overall impression is, if we don’t sort this window out he’ll go in late August. If we get it right he’ll hopefully stay but clearly we’re a total shitshow behind the scenes at the moment. Don’t think that can be argued against
  20. Taking a trip to the launderette later, shall I stop by to pick up some of your stuff?
  21. Whoever’s on digital media today needs hoying in the Tyne with an anchor strapped to their chest. It’s fucking insane how amateurish we are in so many ways despite our financial backing
