Another year out of Europe could surely sink Chelsea
-
Poch won’t be there next season. Wonder if he’ll go before the end of this one
-
Olise would probably be amongst my favourite signings we could make and he fills a priority role for us
-
Sick of Garnacho like
-
If Burn starts against Forest then Howe will deserve proper criticism for it. I love Howe and he’s absolutely the manager to take us forward but Tino is who should be starting as our LB now
-
Man, he loves being a manager
-
Sure, it’s not going to be a great feeling for Burn and I’d never ever want to see anyone booing but I don’t think people chanting for Tino while he has his number up is a bad thing really. It’s a way of fans making a statement without it being too negative. It’s a fine line
-
Don’t hate the game, hate the fans
-
I was one of the ones belting out Tino and I’d personally have liked him to have come on a lot earlier but it’s no slight on Burn. Just very clear that Tino is the better defensive option and attacking option in most games but almost always against rapid wingers
-
This sums it up for me
-
£35m for a development player at 18 looks like it’s gone wrong in all honesty. We’ll see in due course but that’s what the fee is for Hall right? We’ve just got Alfie for less than £5m. I think our LB for next season is very much up in the air. Don’t think it’ll be Targett, Burn will still get games there but who starts is very unclear
-
I didn’t hear it in the standing section but lots of people have commented on it
-
Burn’s never been subbed that early though has he?
-
Actually a decent line from Shearer that. Poor Burn, he’ll be devastated with what happened yesterday. Didn’t need fans turning on him when he knows he got taken apart
-
Would have been an honour to walk away with Barnes’ foot. He didn’t look like he was easing himself back in at all so give that the toe injury was a bit of a freak injury in a way I’m really hopeful that he’ll be able to get back up to speed quickly
-
Was a tricky finish I think. If any contact had been made when it flew across the goal then a miss would have been mad but once it goes past it’s not easy to keep it down given the pace it comes in at. I’d expect Wilson, Isak or Trippier to put that away but most other people in the squad I think would struggle to keep that down
-
It’s not going to be for much longer. I think Tino starts next game
-
Anyone who ever boos any of our players is a cunt. Unless they’re totally disrespecting the club or damaging it intentionally
-
Aye, people trying to make the case that Eddie’s made a horrific blunder playing Burn is so frustrating. Burn does offer us something and has been a good option at LB in many games, especially last season. He was never fast but he looks even slower these days. I think against pacy wingers he shouldn’t start and Tino should. Burn should be backup CB and back up LB apart from for certain games at LB
-
Thought he looked pretty good receiving the ball and laying it off. He was up against a ridiculously physical team too. He’s such a versatile player that I see him playing that role as a backup fairly well
-
That ref was unbelievably out of his depth today. Had no control on the game. Was like a substitute teacher where the kids were getting away with whatever they wanted
-
His second finish was really good. First one was almost unmissable. Second one, he had to receive it, set himself and then score. Often he takes too long on those and allows keepers to get a block in. I agree, that we got played through too much as we have done almost all season but he did do some tidy defensive work as well
-
Fuck off, just seen the Villa score
-
It was soft of course but there’s no scenario where you can put pressure on someone’s back from behind and expect it not to be given
-
Fair play, he looked rapid but it’s hard to compare a freight train to a Tomy train set
