This is one of the very few scenarios where locking a thread would make sense. The only time this thread will have a meaningful update is when he’s loaned or sold. The likelihood of him getting sold anytime soon seems absolutely minuscule

Fucking hell, what an absolute mess. I get that it’s hard to point fingers but it’s shit for everyone involved apart from Forest

Where have I said any of that? I don’t have any trouble believing Howe can work with a DoF. Whether he can work with Mitchell we’ll have to wait and see but if it doesn’t work out I’d want Mitchell to go and not Howe. Howe has conducted himself impeccably here in every single press conference, the players love him, he’s had incredible results on the pitch, he’s improved so many players. Until Mitchell proves his worth to this club there’s nothing to suggest he’s an important piece. Fingers crossed he will be but making some ill advised comments across a couple of interviews isn’t clever stuff

Start of what? Administration proceedings?

If there’s an issue of trust and it’s not going to work then Mitchell can fuck off. I’ll wait and see how things develop though as it’s certainly not clear enough yet how it’s going to go. Let’s hope Mitchell that he can get his act together quickly and get players in that work for Howe and hopefully Howe will let him do that. Mitchell needs to work on how he talks though, Eddie is a master diplomat. Mitchell is not

My reference to us moving slow isn’t just in relation to the stadium. It’s also to do with the training ground, some sponsor-related stuff, not seemingly doing anything to challenge any of the corrupt rules in place that damage competition, not taking advantage of the actual rules in place, not planning effectively for this window just gone. It all just feels slapdash considering we’re “the richest” club around. Obviously we’re hamstrung but we don’t seem to have done much to work within the confines of being hamstrung
-
It does feel problematic how slow we move. Football moves very quickly but we seem like we’re at constant walking pace
-
“Keep politics out of football” going well I see. Couldn’t be any more corrupt if it tried. The whole thing is a fucking con

100% lifetime ban territory, wonder how high the bar of evidence needs to be. The legal costs associated with this case must be through the roof
-
Aye, it’s all fucked. Football is foul off the pitch in almost every conceivable way

Think the ballot opens on the 17th sept
-
Just delay it until his playing career is over like you want to lads
-
The issue I had with Obertan is that it was almost impossible how bad he was when you considered his physical attributes. How someone with that pace could be so utterly awful all the time was some feat
-
I like him, whatever your take is on how much it’s a PR thing and how much he really cares it just feels ridiculously devil’s advocate to say that it’s a contrived attempt to build his brand. No one else has done it, no one else has tried to make a difference like he did. He deserves huge respect for it. I always have the impression that he’s struggling with his mental health when going through bad patches of form. He never looks happy even if he gets a goal etc. Hes not the player everyone thought he was or expected him to be but that’s hardly a bad thing for us

Love Cissé despite his lack of a brain at playing the offside line. That six month period where everything went in was an absolutely glorious time to be a Newcastle fan
-
The most exciting aspect of the club at the moment is the efforts going into building the quality of our academy
-
I liked the Amex apart from the coked up toon fan next to me

Comes across as such a canny lad

Maybe actually try and make a proper offer rather than asking us to basically release him to you, clowns

Captain Steak Bakes (now managing Blackpool/revising history)

Think it was almost entirely about trying to trash us rather than anything at all about him. He plays the victim very well though -
That’s gutting for Odegaard. He’s one of the top five best players in the league and Arsenal’s most important player. On the flip side, Arteta is a piece of shit
-
In fairness, when I lived in London for six years I think we lost every game against them at Craven Cottage so I’ve just cemented it in my memory as a terrible away ground for us
-
If we do well across those four away games the signs are that we’ll be on for a huge season: Wolves away (tough game, just a draw) Fulham away (horrible ground for us a lot of the time. However, think we’ll blow them away, 3 points) AFC Wimbledon away (they’ll make it frustrating but we’ll win 2-0 and go through to the next round) Everton away (we have to win against these little freaks, 3 points. This season we’re getting all 3) Please
