  1. No Marveaux is a disgrace if he isn't injured. Also : Williamson over Perch/ Sissoko playing outwide/ Anita and Bigi playing in the centre seem to be pretty poor selections to me. Look forward to seeing Shola warming up on 70 mins ahead of Campbell, HBA and Marveaux aswell. Hope i'm wrong and we're witnessing a tactical masterstroke.
  2. Shut up. You won't f*** any whore when you go to Amsterdam. Stop treating woman like that. Instead of f***ing the bitches, how about getting to know their hopes and dreams? How about taking a joke. Are we really at the stage where you have to put a smiley on the end of jokes now just so people know you are joking? I was joking too. I like being racist and treating women like s***. I'm not a racist and I don't treat women like s***. I made a joke about shagging a prostitute, a prostitute in a country where it is legal and they only go into that industry by choice. Quote me where I've been racist, quote me where I've treated women with contempt.
  3. Reckon this might be a draw. Would probably take that too, after today's result. Di Canio will have them fired up and it will no doubt be a scrappy encounter.
  4. We certainly won't see the best of him unless we do see a pretty radical transformation in playing style.
  5. Jol repeated his tactic of just telling everyone to ignore Simpson Probably got the idea from some of our players

Beautiful scenes after the goal. Deserves kudos for actually setting us up properly for the second game in a row. Maybe he might convince himself we can win playing proper football instead of negative grind. Wasn't convinced by the subs at all, if anything they nearly cost us the game. Nice to see Adam get a run out. More of the same please Alan. The way you're going on we played some scintillating stuff at times which we certainly didn't. We got the three points which at this stage of the season is very much needed but don't try and gloss over the fact it we weren't exactly brilliant today. I agree. Improved performance from the turgid stuff we've seen all year but it had to be. Still no real urgency until the end of the game and limited showing in terms of attacking play (lack of movement/not enough players going forward and supporting play still being our most obvious weaknesses).
  7. Yep. Excellent again today .

The press made it up one day and have never let it go, the fans have clung onto it. We all know there is a hell of a lot of rubbish that passes for transfer news in the press, but this has been reported across various different sources (including a BBC journo) for several months now. Mentioned briefly in the Journal this morning too fwiw. Hope you're right, of course.

  10. Been crap for a fair few weeks now GW32 : Reading 2-2 Southampton Norwich 1-1 Swansea Stoke City 1-1 Aston Villa West Brom 1-2 Arsenal Liverpool 3-0 West Ham Tottenham 1-1 Everton Chelsea 2-1 Sunderland Newcastle 1-0 Fulham QPR 2-1 Wigan Man Utd 1-1 Man City
  11. 2 or 3 runs and a couple of passes (all with his left anarl as if he'd got a right foot he'd have played Cisse in at 1-0 to make it 2) aren't enough. He's good neat and tidy player who can beat a couple of players with a mazy dribble but he only plays for 10 to 15 minutes a game and goes missing for the other 75. Thats a result of the way that the team is set up as much as anything.

Think there is something in the Liverpool link, even if it is only Liverpool trying to unsettle the player or agent manoeuvering ahead of contract negotiations. Read it far too many times for my liking.
  13. Seen nothing from Haidara to suggest he is better than Santon at this moment in time.
  14. Me too . Also, don't think this is a game which will suit Tiote.

    Shola Ameobi

Did nothing but give away possession via offsides and fouls. Terrible substitution.
  16. Yep. Sissoko proved himself to be defensively competent tonight and Marveaux is most at home in the number 10 role.
  17. Definitely liable to the odd lapse in concentration. Could easily be MYM being berated tonight instead of Santon.

    Alan Pardew

Thought that too. Counted 7+ players in and around the final third during one of their attacks, which stood out compared to our attacking gameplan, even at the beginning of the game.
  19. Some solid defensive work today, I thought. Too often isolated when going forward.
  20. Thought he was excellent. Didn't deserve to be taken off for Pardew's favourite 'plan B'.
  21. Think Gutierrez could be useful as much needed protection for Simpson, if nothing else.

I reckon he'll give them enough of a boost to see them safe. Definitely a leftfield (or far-right field ) appointment which is preferable to the names most on here would have hoped Sunderland would go far when O'Neil was sacked. Always liable to blow up though, definitely not an appointment for seekers of stability. Curious to see how he gets on, if only to see if my outlandish claim that I would take him here is at all justifiable .
