Think both of them (Anita in particular) would look much better as part of a three.

Pablo Piatti. Linked with WBA and Southampton on loan.

If people think some other strikers going to come in and start banging in goals without any service they are in for a rude awakening when he's dropped. Remy might be able to pull goals out of thin air, he's a canny dribbler, but a new striker isn't going to magically transform Pardew's turgid football into slick passing heaven. Totally agree. Some people don't seem to grasp that it's not even solely about service, it's also about things like getting men in the box to create space for a striker. We get fewer men into the box regularly than any top flight team I've seen in years. Your service to the striker could be fantastic but if he's marked by the entire back four, he's unlikely to be able to get near it, never mind put it away. This. Our attacking as a team is terrible and it has little to do with personnel.

£10 on Chelsea tonight.

NUFCfans @nufcfans 1h Serious Q: For those screaming "Pardew Out" and "the man is a joke". What could he have done differently today? How is he to blame? #NUFC NUFCfans @nufcfans 1h @Ammy_TF Need a bit of perspective. AP is easy target, and he didn't do much wrong today in my view. http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/insulted.gif

Disagree thought he didn't get the ball much admitably but always did something worthwhileish with it I agree. Used the ball very intelligently.

Lack of movement/not attacking in numbers is definitely our biggest problem. I remember Cisse wanting to take a throw in quickly early on in the game and there was nobody anywhere near him, with 3+ players stood on the halfway line. Clearly a coaching problem rather than personnel, too. This.

Pretty good today, I thought.
-
Nice to hear some boos for that shitty sub, at least.
-
Looked good IMO, especially considering he isn't a 4-4-2 type of player.
-
Better late than never.

Scrappy, ugly game so far. Pretty much as expected. Passing has been ok in spells, but the lack of numbers when going forward is terrible. We're way too deep, and too static.
-
Yea i'm a bit worried about playing Anita as part of a central 2. Central 3 yea, but central 2? :/ Me too. Possibly the least suited to 4-4-2 out of all of our players. Not happy with the formation (or Ameobi), but pleasantly surprised to see Marveaux and HBA on the pitch together.

They are all being chronically mismanaged. The only way in which the 'The Graham Carr experiment' has failed is that we didn't ask him to help us locate a manager in the summer. This is probably now an unpopular opinion.
-
He was crap last night, but I'm still confident he can be a quality player for us. Those wittering on about his nationality/our recruitment policy would do well to remember his performance against England at Euro 2012, where he was easily one of the best players on the pitch. When an entire team performs as we did last night, scapegoating individuals serves only to deflect away from the wider picture.
-
Pardew just doesn't fancy him, and i suspect it because Pardew thinks Marv doesn't work hard enough. s*** reason from a s*** manager. Yep. Refuses to have HBA and Marveaux on the pitch at the same time.
-
City only had one more English player in their team than we did.
-
We've played better than I was expecting.

. More annoyed by the absence of Marveaux.
