I think he is taken out of the game more by being played further forward, especially given the way we play under Pardew. His energy, physical presence and composure on the ball would be better utilised in a box-to-box role, which wouldn't sacrifice the marauding runs which have revitalised our attacking play. He is more than competent as a number 10, but personally I would play Marveaux there (who I rate higher in terms of 'football IQ'). I also don't think we require a DM in a lot of our games, especially at home, so don't mind Tiote making way.

You haven't been happy with Sissoko's performances or why would you do that? Also Tiote has been keeping it simple the past few games. Think Sissoko is better suited to a box-to-box role. Tiote has looked a little better in recent games, but has yet to replicate the role/form of his first season. Bit like saying Cabaye is better suited to CM than Shola. I meant I see Sissoko as a box-to-box player rather than as a number 10.

I might be in favour of selling if I thought we could get a decent price for him, especially as I favour Sissoko dropping deeper position wise. Agree with those saying he would be a lot more effective if he kept it simple, too.

I would do it for most games, especially at home. Quality player, worthy of a starting place.

Tiote slows down a lot of our attacks. I'd bring Marveaux on for him and drop Sissoko to a deeper position.

Don't want Simpson up against Willian. Would play : Elliot Santon Taylor MYM Haidara Cabaye Sissoko Jonas Marveaux Obertan Cisse
-
Good riddance. Was never going to be more than a championship player anyway, off field issues aside.

Why not? He's been fantastic there. I think he'd be more involved in the game if he was deployed further back, in more of a 'box-to-box' role, where his physical qualities would be better utilised and he would still have license to make marauding runs forward. With the way we seem to play, I think he might often find himself isolated just behind the striker. Agree he's looked very good so far.

Don't see him as a number 10 myself.

Krul Debuchy Colo Mbiwa Santon Sissoko Cabaye Gutierrez Marveaux Gouffran Cisse
-
Sissoko Cabaye Jonas Marveaux Gouffran Cisse Includes Marv while maintaining some width. Also think Sissoko will be further back positionally long-term, obviously with license to come forward on those marauding runs.
-
Thought Marveaux was very good yesterday. Has to be accommodated in the first team.

Just thought of this, searched and found it was already suggested http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3bPshSlQMo "We've got Debuchy, playing down our right!"
-
Thought he was one of our best players first half. Soft pen to concede but needn't need to attempt a tackle there.
-
Very pleasing so far. Need to play with the same mentality (ie not sit back) 2nd half. Debuchy has been great
