True, but I think managers communicate about these matters amongst themselves more than people may think.I was surprised reading about the level of communication between Wenger/Ferguson earlier in the season prior to Van Persie's move.

Remember reading a lot of negative things about him in the French press (turning up drunk to training, refusing to pay child support etc) when we were linked. Glad we stayed away.

If we had to lose one of Colo, Cabaye and Ben Arfa I would let Cabaye go.

If we kept all of our players and Pardew was sacked in favour of a better manager (not going to happen, I know) I think we maybe only need one major addition (a wide forward/Striker a la Remy/PEA). Pardew's talk yesterday of lacking in squad depth after the way he was backed in January was ridiculous.

If Pardew stays, worse is better (to a point). Would rather we start the season poorly enough for him to get sacked by Christmas, with him continuing to struggle to get the best out of our technical players, than settle for a few 13th place seasons in which Ben Arfa, Cabaye etc have departed and Jay Spearing and Andy Carroll are in the side.

What was the mood like amongst our fans at the game, particularly the attitude towards Pardew? Thought I heard some boos when Ben Arfa was coming off and at the end. Brilliant away support today, there was mild discontent with substitutions but we never shut up. . Suppose there isn't much more the fans can do other than get behind the team at this point. Just hope fan apathy/unawareness doesn't help contribute to Pardew being in a job at the start of next season, whatever division we're in.

8. Between us and Norwich. Absolutely unbelievable position we're in, considering our squad. Pardew has really outdone himself.

At the higher end of his performance level today. Still offers nothing going forward and was given a tough time by Jarvis (and Joe Cole to a lesser extent). Looking forward to having Debuchy back next week.
