  3. . If we sign him it will be a pretty damning indication of what Pardew's footballing philosophy amounts to. Don't believe we would sign him to sit on the bench or to be our 'Ameobi option' () either.

  5. He's been impressive so far on the whole, but those saying he is better than Colo clearly jumped the gun.

    Alan Pardew

Great post . The bit in bold is what it ultimately boils down to- I don't want to look back in a few years remembering Pardew as the man who failed to realise the potential of a great squad of players, which I believe we have (especially in light of the january additions). Wigan looking superior to us today in terms of ball retention, movement and attacking fluidity wasn't anomalous- this has been the case practically all season, whoever we have played.
  7. Yep. Another good game, I thought. Especially considering where the team is in terms of movement and fluidity.
  8. He's not a box to box midfielder either as you need to be able to tackle and he can't. Would want to see him in our team playing a box-to-box role before making that judgement, but I would imagine his physical presence and energy would be useful defensively in a deeper position.

    Alan Pardew

Yep. Shown up by Wigan (a team with inferior players across the board) in terms of movement and fluidity today. Embarrassing with the talent we possess.
  10. Horrible tackle . Reminded me of Roy Keane on Inge-Haaland.
  11. Hope the bench doesn't indicate we'll be clinging on for dear life at the 60 minute mark (or 'seeing the game out' as Pardew likes to call it..).

  14. This combined with his sloppy passing/slowing down of our attacks makes him infuriating to watch at times.
  15. Pleasantly suprised with his performance today
  16. Lucky avatar . Brilliant game today. Has to be accommodated in the first team .
  17. Very impressive first half.
  18. Very much this. Don't think Anzhi will perform anywhere near as poorly as they did in the first leg.
