    NUFC Kits

Any1 else noticed that the back of the Espanyol kit seem to be a solid colour, not stripes?
  2. Good (if true). Bad IMO, we shouldn't be denying any player the chance to compete in the Olympics. Unless he doesn't want to personally. Can entirely see the reason why the club wouldn't want to release him though. That would be 3 consecutive international tournaments within the space of 13 months - 2 ACoNs + Olympics. He'll probably be running on near empty at the end of it.

Ribery's wife is the most unattractive I've seen so far. Let's just say they're a match made in heaven.
  4. Good point. Maybe the new TV money had changed our transfer plans for this summer, and we are aiming to get in before the competition comes along or selling clubs ask for even more knowing the improved TV deal after next season.

A return to the club he started his youth career with it seems. Barca DNA.

  9. Maybe Pardew hopes to see more of him to make a decision since he's been away last season, whereas he knows all about Harper and Krul from their game time. Trying to bump up his price to Celtic by making him look as though he is under serious consideration for a place here perhaps? Celtic has gone quiet since the rejected bid weeks back. They were also looking at other keepers like Pletikosa so my guess is they aren't that desperate to land Forster for a bigger fee though.

  11. Asia was draw after Africa. Group A: China, Jordan, Iraq, Singapore Group B: Korea Republic, Kuwait, UAE, Lebanon Group C: Japan, Uzbekistan, Syria, Korea DPR Group D: Australia, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Thailand Group E: Iran, Qatar, Bahrain, Indonesia Cambodia did not make it to this stage.
  12. Where're you from, Pip? Can't complain here. Singapore had a good draw, avoiding the Saudis, Uzbeks, North Koreans and of course the big shots from pot 1. Oldtype should be happy with the draw as well. Group C naturally the Group of Death - Japan v DRPK should be interetsing.

  14. Aye, if there's a model pro, Duric is one. He's coming to 41 soon and is still one of the top strikers in the league and NT. Takes care of his body like a footballer should, nee bad habits or controversy. Previous naturalised strikers - Egmar Goncalves (Brazil), Mirko Grabovac (Croatia) - didn't manage to take their league scoring exploits to the NT. He did and proved to be one of the big success of the Foreign Talent Scheme. Will love him to stay in Singapore in a coaching/ managing capacity after he eventually retires. In fact, Duric has a pretty amazing story (hitchhike his way to the Olympics when he was younger I believe). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aleksandar_Duric http://www.fifa.com/worldfootball/clubfootball/news/newsid=1286130.html Not to mention him being the oldest debutant for Singapore at age 37.
  15. Singapore. We are the true minnows at this stage of the competition. The last time we met Uzbekistan at the same stage at home, we lost 3-7. So I'll be realistic and happy if we can put in a few good performances or so. The National Stadium with a capacity of 55,000 was torn down to make way for a new Sports Hub so we'll have to play our matches at the intimidating 6,000-seat Jalan Besar Stadium. Still the best match/ result so far was the win over our archrivals Malaysia (5-3, 1-1). Sadly the region (Southeast Asia) is still far behind the rest of Asia. How about you? Where're you from?
  16. Speaks volumes when the Southeast Asia teams are in the last pot. At least we'll avoid DPR Korea who should be in a stronger pot. ROK or Japan can have them for 2 interesting ties instead. China from pot 1 will be the best option. Naturally look to avoid the Uzbeks and Saudis from pot 2. Not that I'll fancy our chances anyway considering this is only our 2nd time in round 3.
  17. 2m/yr > 4m/2yrs (104wks), so around 40k euros/wk. Slightly less when you convert to gbp. Cajun's prob close.

He's been "likely" to join 10 clubs this summer. Those directors in Italy are talking so much s****. Zamparini is such a bloody joke. Only he himself doesn't know he's the fool.

  21. Bridge > Campbell. If he's brought in on a one-year deal I have no problem with it. Have you seen how much money he wants? He was on £70k at West Ham and he looked terrible. I would bet he's the england international we had turned down. How much? I'm in.
