Today suited him greatly, pretty slow pace and no one physical to bully him. Reads the game well.

Gomis 0-1 Cattermole is really horrible footballer.

Agreed, apart from Colback and Obertan. Would have taken these two off at HT, put Aarons and Thauvin on, pushed Perez up front with Mitrovic and Wijnaldum back in the middle, and had a right go with 442. The extra center midfielder we had didn't make a jot of a difference, and I would have much rather played a more expansive game using more of the pitch. Really could have won this. No way man, they would have destroyed us. The extra man protected the key zone in front of Saylor and Colo were Mata, Rooney, Januzaj and even Depay were trying to break. No chance to get anything from that game with 4-4-2 And also Colo blocked Valencia's shot, which was a certain goal, with his back and had no idea. We were a bit lucky.

Colo for me. Mountain today. It was made easy for Colo tho as ManU attacked veeeery slowly.
-
PEA twice and Kagawa has got 1. BVB bossing this totally
-
Dunk on the bench, maybe there is some truth in the rumours that we are after him. Thougt he was a ever present for them?
-
It depends. If we think top4 is where we should be then we are delusional. SM still has lot to prove tho
-
What is realistic expectation tho? I don't think we could challenge for top 4 no matter how much we invest. The best players will always go to bigger teams. Top 8 or maybe top 6 is pretty much the highest we can hope. And not for a while.

I am pretty sure there is some sort of appereance related clause in Cabella's deal from Montpellier. So we didn't pay the full 12 upfront. Would be very un-Ashley deal otherwise.
-
Barca can buy him in January right? I mean Abdennour
-
Sure Mbemba got rinsed by Montero for the 2nd goal. he did aye Pretty difficult to stop that situation. Mbemba didn't let Montero get inside once. Only defender I've seen stop him in that respect. Montero goes outside to cross most of the time, MOTD last night highlighted how much space Mbemba was giving him. I watched him run through Ivanovic and Janmaat on the inside on more than a few occasions this season. I thought Montero is right footed anyway... so let him cross with his weaker foot
-
Cabella really doesn't seem to fit McClaren's system, so might aswell ship him if he thinks Thauvin fits in better.
-
Yea thats true, let him cross too easily. Although I still think it's Colo's fault for letting Ayew head it in so easily. Anyway, Mbemba looks like a great defender. Our defense in general is shit ofc.
-
I think Mbemba was superb. Janmaat screwed the offiside trap, but Mbemba was the only one cabable of handling Montero. He is also very calm with the ball. Clearly already our best defender.
-
I was a bit surprised with how deep we sat, even with 11v11. McClaren has been saying that we will be pressing a lot more, but we really didn't yesterday. Maybe the game plan was to keep it tight for the first half and then start pressing higher during the second, will never know.
-
Was that a floating set penis to backpost I saw?
-
Agree. Cisse is a 100% poacher, he has no idea how to link up play or hold the ball. He scores but does nothing else.
-
Why we need a striker? We got 1 expensive one on the bench and other expensive already subbed off
-
Sissoko really isn't very good as a number 6. Wijnaldum is miles ahead in that position. So if we need to play both centrally, it should be Gini and Anita/Tiote/Colback deeper and Sissoko as no 10.
-
I understand that Soldado is also a very lazy at training and doesn't keep himself at shape unless there is someone shouting and keeping him in line
-
They all have 5. Chelsea, Man Utd and Stoke. Read is somewhere, prolly from twitter. edit. damn you. I guess its not true then
-
Trying hard is the minimun what a professional player should do. But tbh Colback was miles better than Tiote. He didn't give the ball away too much, but he just isn't brave enough with the ball and is ridiciously one footed.
-
But it means our fullbacks can push further up straightaway. Seen it used by many teams that try to play on the deck. Sensible way, but really wouldn't work with Tiote.
-
We are relying too much to the wingers and fullbacks with our attacking. With Winegum and De Jong in the middle we should attack through middle too. Just putting crosses is not very effective. Although we have lacked a good crosser for a while
