    Your first game

We did, if I remember rightly Alex Manninger was in goal for them and played awful. Only memory I have of that match if true. That was my first ever time at SJP. Only memories are that it was gloriously sunny and going to the Old George with my dad beforehand. Didn't know a single thing about the match until I checked Wikipedia earlier. I was at that one too. I seem to remember Del Piero got a standing ovation but it's equally possible I imagined that.

Sauce Can't be arsed, sorry. More to do with the defence of Pardew though IIRC. This definitely happened. I remember being really disappointed with Rob Lee when I read about it.

    Your first game

My Dad took me to my first game v Grimsby at home some time in the early/mid 80s. Don't remember the score but remember the crowd singing 'Captain Birdseye' at the Grimsby fans and having a bovril at half time. Also seem to remember some kind of digitised scoreboard at the ground. I'm pretty sure we were standing too.

Interesting article, thanks very much kind sir. I can't quite believe I missed that - I heard ne'er a peep about it. Some interesting parallels, but some cautionary tales too - I can see Ashley reacting to a bocyott, especially if it was unwisely only planned for one game, the same way the Lazio president did - i.e. by completely ignoring it. It should also be noted that the mess AC were in was due to their funding being cut off, necessitating a change with or without a boycott. There appears to be no such pressing need for Ashley, and there likely never will be without relegation. It was nice to note the call for protest actually seemed to underestimate the public feeling - it seems to have assume many would still attend, therefore it asked them simply not to sing. Follow up piece here from a few days ago, if anyone's interested: http://www.thenational.ae/sport/football/berlusconi-family-plan-to-sell-ac-milan-shares The amount of effort you are putting into trying to quash any hope for change or ideas for action is intriguing. It's having zero effect, mind. That ship has sailed. Your ability to ignore the fact I have already made a solid suggestion for action, and have already announced more are coming, is intriguing also. It's almost like the only thing you're interested in hearing is people who think and feel exactly the way you do. It's almost like the only thing you're interested in doing is portraying me as something I'm not, or trying to make people think I've said things I haven't. Oof. That one hit home didn't it. Like I said, your words are having zero effect. So much effort for such an exercise in futility.

Bishop will be fuming at that waste of £50!
  7. I would love to see the reaction when he puts Rooney at left back and Carlton Cole up front.
  8. I've been convinced for a while that he's out to destroy the club from within. Make a load of money out of it, advertise his tat emporium for free, asset strip the club and then fuck off once it's a relegated husk of a former top level club. With bonus points for taking the piss out of the fans, the city and the history of the club at every stage. Job done and onto his next victim North of the border.

    John Carver

I'd normally be concerned that he'd spill our gameplan to Clattermole in a situation like that given he was likely pissed. Then I remembered we don't have any tactics or a gameplan.
  10. This lot crippled my bets too. Ridiculous.

    Steve McClaren

I'm just responding post by post tbh. I doubt I want him much more than you do, just saying he's had a few decent achievements in his career. No idea of the respective abilities of the 2 sides either, you must have the memory of an elephant. I would be extremely p*ssed off with McClaren as manager, but not as p*ssed off as I would be Carver or O'Leary or whoever. We could easily get a far better manager in who would work under Astley. It appears we might choose not to though, so McClaren would be small mercies compared to the alternatives That's a bad typo but I'm never gonna give you up IP

Would build strong foundations, helping us dig deep and give us a killer edge. Probs be in with a shout if he wasn't deed. Not sure he'd give the kids a chance though Oof. Too far man If you can't laugh at serial-killing 1950s throwbacks, what can you laugh at? More of mass grave kmaer rouge kind of guy. Amateurs tbh

I'd take Fred West at this stage.

  17. You actually think they are looking for a new manager? No. I'm just bored and intrigued who that guy is so I'm trawling the Internet trying to find a match. Can't find any likely lookalikes on maturemamas.com though unfortunately.
