The people who are pleased with this have such low expectations. If we got rid of Shola and bought a striker who can actually make an impact on games it'd be like night and day. Really can't believe there's still people in 2013 who gladly accept what he offers.

Absolutely pathetic. Like all the other times.

It's probable he was only given the captaincy due to him being the best of a bad bunch in that area. Taylor was the only other option and he's hardly ever fit. He's no loss in that regard imo.

€56 on a 9 team accumulator.

Such anger at a young age. Hope he gets a couple of tap ins tonight anyway. He's always there when you need him. It's all about goals. I think 3 goals will put him in the top 20 highest scorers. Not too Alonso.

   You would sign such a pact? I just want to see Newcastle win a game

I'd rather Newcastle win a match than England win the World Cup. srsly.

Newcastle United are very disappointed with the behaviour of a minority of its fans who were involved in the vandalism of equipment belonging to Wigan Cosmos Football Club and pitch incursions during their game against AFC Leigh Centurions on Sunday, 17th March which caused the match to be stopped. Our travelling fans have a very good reputation, but the actions of a minority on this occasion were wholly unacceptable. Football, at all levels of the game, deserves the same degree of respect whether it is played in the Premier League or at the grassroots level. We were sorry to learn that this South Lancashire Counties Premier Division game was disrupted in this manner and we would urge anyone who witnessed this incident to contact Greater Manchester Police. The Club will be contacting Wigan Cosmos to arrange to reimburse them for the damage.

No chance that will happen. They way the later handled the situation in particular will never be forgotten IMO, nor should it. McManaman will forever be chastised for that tackle too, if not by his own club, the rest of the football world. That bandwagon is gone. We'll remember it but it's largely forgotten now.

Think it was in Bobby Robson's book that he said Harper got paid more than he should have as an incentive to stay and be backup. I'd have done the same.

Would be a far worse decision than the Haidara verdict.

"I'm glad I'm not still at Wigan" seems to be his message.

He's a human parody account.

I'm just looking forward to you quoting it 3-4 times a day if he doesn't make it http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/whoop-there-it-is.gif

R-Tay got a red against Bolton 2 years ago then got absolutely ruined by some clogger against Villa last year.

Harper's blatant elbow on Best.

There was no way that challenge was not going to cause injury though, you cannot just sweep all bad tackles into the same bracket. Although more do need to be punished retrospectively. Genuinely one of the worst challenges I've ever seen. It more about the trial by media reaction this one has got compared to a horrific tackle that goes largely unnoticed due to lack of injury. If Haidara had jumped straight up it would barely be an issue to the vast majority of football fans imo. It's taken a potentially bad injury to get some much needed attention.
-
Plenty of leg/ankle breakers go almost completely unpunished because the players who gets fouled don't get injured. It's really unfortunate that a player has had to be injured for this to be a big issue (for the next few days anyway).

Don't question Pardew's medical qualifications! You'll make Cajun cry

Better than I thought then. Still can't quite believe we're only 3 points better off than Villa
