Beating some of the best teams in Europe is better than beating teams we play with every week. It'd be a nice profile raiser too.

Best reminds me of the job Paul Kitson did when we sold Cole in 1995. Came in to replace Carroll, did a decent/good job then got replaced by (hopefully) better strikers.

Will we qualify for the Champions League? Sadly not...

Fulham are one of the most in-form teams in the league and West Brom are going to want to give Roy The Boy a good send off. Arsenal just drew 3-3 with Norwich at home, Tottenham just drew with Villa and Everton drew 0-0 with Wolves. I have faith -

"Anyway . . . we won. A magnificent performance. Made all the more sweet as their manager is a tool what needs his hair ruffling and a kick in the shins." The words of Noel Gallagher. -
So the racist thing is probably true then?

Considering how many yellow cards he gets, his red card record is staggering. Can only remember that red card in the cup last season which was a bit harsh.

We've seen very, very little of this "natural talent" when he's playing for the first team. His place in the squad should be taken up with a player who has the right attitude and wants to succeed, especially now we're moving forward so quickly as a team and as a club.

The period just after full time when roads become paths. The cheering at the end when it's announced sunderland have lost again. The one kid who falls over when taking a penalty at half time. Claiming offside when you couldn't possibly know from your vantage point. "MAN ON!!" Mike from newcastle-online. Saying "thanks" for no real reason to the people who sit behind the turnstile machine.

And the pure adrenaline rush you get when the other team gets the ball under control while the keeper is legging it back.

Today's result might have convinced Villa to really go for it tomorrow instead of trying to rely on a win against Norwich next week. -
If we score early tomorrow it'll be the loudest reaction since Tiote's goal. Positive thoughts everyone.

I wouldn't. i wouldn't want to watch my team go backwards so quick for the sake of a cup win. If you managed to get 4th, it would beat winning any of the cups. I know it's not the ideal state of things, but the way football works CL qualification (if you manage to build on it) means the world nowadays. Agreed. Even getting into the Uefa Cup via the league is bigger than winning the Carling cup for me. Considering our expectations last July, it shows massive overall progress and an excellent season.

I wouldn't. i wouldn't want to watch my team go backwards so quick for the sake of a cup win. Aye. All things considered, there's more to football than a few (probably) undeserved trophies. A whole season of good/great football and massive wins coupled with a top 4 challenge vs mid table obscurity, being a general laughing stock and 2 or 3 great days out at Wembley.

2 of Nolan's 3 against the mackems in the 5-1? They certainly seemed and felt like great goals at the time.
