So many wingers are inverted now and looking to cut inside, so there is that. He has just always looked more comfortable on the left to me for some reason, especially going forward. Right back to when he signed, he had spells at both RB and LB and always had stronger showings on the left. I would like to see him back on the right, of course. As Hall needs to be a regular starter soon enough.

I'm in agreement with quite a few others on Gordon and Elanga starting. Gives us some extreme pace out wide and I think both could play narrow at times, looking to get in behind. When we have the right kind of possession or the chance to counter. Murphy and Barnes are quality options off the bench. Seems ridiculous to suggest leaving out Schar or Burn. But you'd think Botman's skillset would be more suited to Barca's style of play and they'll need to get rotated sooner or later. Maybe against Bournemouth Thiaw or Botman will get a start. I also think we will improve on the ball and getting up the pitch when Hall comes back in. But then you lose some of what makes Tino great, as he always looks better on the left. Plus I'm not sure Hall's first start since Feb/March or whenever it was. Is going to come against Barca!

Small sample size and it might just be how he always is and his persona. But he looks like he’s almost scared and really low in confidence when he’s playing.

I know highlights can make a player look good or bad. But on the extended highlights, he was involved in a lot of our good attacking play. A poor shot and some looses touches, for sure. But having not watched the game. I would have thought he’d played well based on that. Seems like he was fairly poor again, however.

This sums it up for me. I need to try and remind myself that what he brings does outweigh the other stuff and not complain too much about it. It’s just hard when he’s having an off day or the team isn’t clicking. As it is magnified.

3 clean sheets out of 4 is good going. It’s not like we defended badly against Liverpool, either. Just undone by 3 great finishes. If we can get the new look attack to start clicking and find some consistency at that end of the pitch. Then we’ll probably win the league, TBF.
