“For this ensemble. I’ve basically gone for a blend of Blanche off Corrie with a Mexican gangster from LA.”

Needs to stop losing his head and all. Whether it is needless red cards or just sulking. Starting to get Joey Barton vibes from him with all the faux-intellectual stuff. Which is rarely backed up by his actions.

Did they have great chemistry on the pitch? I rarely saw it Always thought Willock and Murphy linked up with him far better.

Oh for sure. But he was always doing his best, playing through injury at a point and I think and I probably took it too far. Especially considering how much he clearly cares and wants to play for this club. Unlike another snakelike individual who has just left, for example.

I was pretty critical about him during that spell where he got hung out to dry at left back. Looking back, it was foolish in the extreme. Since he has been more of a prominent figure in the group, done more media, popped up on Instagram etc. He just seems like a thoroughly nice, down to earth bloke. Who is living the dream, whilst being a shit hot defender at the same time. I'm not sure I have ever seen a player in my lifetime for NUFC that appears to be more deserving of success and the adulation he receives. He has done it the hard way, for sure. The two Wigan fans and one Fulham fan I know still absolutely love him. Small sample size, granted But it's always a good sign.

Not good OPTICS. Which seems to be the buzzword from the transfer window. Personally, I feel a bit Partridge shrug about it all.

They might be alright now. You’d like to think they won’t have a match handicap of -1 or -2 to start every game. Still soft as fuck through the middle by the looks of it.

I saw this thread being bumped and just assumed he was injured again. At least it’s not that.

Last time I remember feeling like we were disrespected by an outgoing player was Wijnaldum. I’m probably forgetting an obvious one, mind. I think Sissoko the same season. But in hindsight, he seemed to get unfair stick in comparison But it’s not even comparable. We didn’t have any ambition back then, we were getting relegated and he was miles too good for where we were at the time. Plus he was only with us for a season, so the connection wasn’t really there. Even Cabaye never felt anywhere near this bad. Even though he fundamentally did the same thing by refusing to play/train. I don’t even think time will be a healer like it was for Wijnaldum and Cabaye.

I wouldn’t want one, anyway. It would be meaningless, hollow as fuck and insincere. So what’s the point in pretending. I know footballers are all mercenaries up to a point and probably don’t give as much of a fuck about the fans as they make out. But at the same time. So many of this squad just get it and I feel like any message would be genuine and heartfelt from the vast majority, when they end up moving on. Isak’s actions just show he doesn’t give a solitary fuck about the club, the fans or the area in general. He’s a Scumbag. Simple as that.

We need a poll for marks out of 10! I have no idea how to feel. Anywhere from a 4 to a 9 Isak situation hasn’t been handled well and we have sold to the cunts that unsettled him and pushed all the underhand tactics. Think that’s a poor move. It’s also meant we sold him for below his value. All whilst over paying for a striker as his replacement, who pulled very similar shithouse tactics himself. We haven’t really improved the first XI. Arguably, it has been weakened with the loss of Isak. All that said. It is hard to legislate for the nuclear option from Isak. Plus I also like a lot of the other business we got done. Would have loved a more creative, intricate midfielder/wide forward type. But I think we have to accept that isn’t necessarily what Howe is after. We have got rid of a lot of players that needed to go, we have got good money in and the squad is far stronger than it was at the start of last season. We have a bit of depth now, we have options for formation changes. I don’t think we will be far off debating what our best XI is. As opposed to it basically picking itself. Taking the emotion out of it. I think it’s a 7 or an 8.

Glad he scored and he can still contribute something at this level. Albeit his time was certainly up here. Had only heard about that Bowen chance. First time seeing it

It has certainly padded out the squad and our depth looks a lot better. But only 2 of them are starters in our current setup, which is a bit of a minor gripe. Although I do wonder if Howe is going to be a bit more flexible now. 4-3-3 as the main formation. But use the 3-4-2-1 or two up top at times and maybe even back to his old 4-2-3-1 across the season, as well. We certainly seem to have the personnel to mix it up a bit, at least.

Actually just burst out laughing. Obviously it's needs must. But they've got a good, what? 25-40% more than what he is actually worth and we've got a good 15-20% less than Isak's worth. They both did almost exactly the same thing with their toys out the pram routine. Pathetic from the club.

If Woltemade were more of a finisher type. I’d be happy if we signed Jackson. But he just never looks a natural finisher and was hardly ever clinical with the chances he got at Chelsea. It’d be far better than nobody, mind
