    Out for 3-4 weeks apparently
  3. Yamal is different gear. His passing and vision shouldn’t be that good at his age.
  4. At no point was keeping Wood a good idea or perhaps a better option than Wilson. The same way not looking to move Wilson on when he actually had some value, was also a poor decision. As his injuries were only going to get worse and that’s what has happened. I’m sure some re-evaluation has already started. Mainly why we didn’t look to shift the likes of Almiron, Wilson, possibly Trippier. I’m not sure there will be much issue with moving on a player who was massively underperforming, wasn’t in the first team plans and at the same time, almost recouping what we paid for him. If anything, we need to be doing more of that. His transfer should be the blueprint if we need to start trading due to PSR.
  5. Problem is. I don’t think it is. More chance of seeing Gordon or even Barnes up top for any meaningful league minutes, unfortunately. Not a chance Isak gets through this busy run of fixtures if he’s doing close to 90 every game.
  6. Or sell both when their value was high/we actually had offers. Then buy a striker who isn’t a perma crock or crap. Honestly. The re-writing on this forum of Wood’s time here is a real head scratcher. Seems a top bloke. Glad he is now doing well. But he was terrible here.
  7. Quite right and all. Chris Wood was absolutely shite for us. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Assuming he had any suitors. Selling Wilson was the right thing to do after the season when he got 16-18 goals or whatever it was. But keeping Wood was not the answer.
  8. Bit harsh. Definitely a busted flush at this point and he was over a year ago. But I don’t think he’s a sicknote in the same way Owen or Marcelino were. Plus he has been a quality player and goalscorer when he’s been fit. The problem is, he’s just never fit
  9. Looks like AI that. Don’t remember him being so gorgeous.
  10. No chance Big Joe is a 10. I’m not sure he has any of the attributes you’d want to see in that position.
  11. He started the season well. Then looked nothing like he did previously when he returned at the beginning of the year, last Christmas or whenever it was. I doubt the club would come out with "dropped a massive bollock here. He's not right and will need an op to sort it out. We should have done that in the first place." not that I listen to much from the club or players. Howe is notorious for his lies to the press or straight batting everything.
  12. Lemina had a full head loss at the end of the game What was all that about? Had some weird handshake with Bowen, then they started wrestling. Before he then started trying to fight everyone on the pitch. Yet again, it feels like the level of officiating has gotten worse since VAR and the on-field refs seem even more unsure of themselves. Leave any decision to VAR, as you know if it's a blatant error it will be overturned. Yet quite blatant fouls, red cards, penalties etc are getting checked and cleared almost instantly. All because of this new directive from Howard Webb? So what are we left with? A system that clearly isn't working. We don't want it constantly re-refereeing games and over-analyzing every decision. But it would also be nice if the refs went back to making some decisions themselves and also when they don't or perhaps they miss something. VAR is seen as something that assists them and it not being seen as undermining referees when intervening. In the last week alone, off the top of my head from games I've watched and can remember. We have seen what is IMO a clear pen on Isak, a clear pen/red card for VVD on Gordon, a red card for Kulusevski, the two penalties last night that weren't given. Seems the general consensus amongst fans, ex-pros and pundits alike are that all of the above were the wrong call from VAR. They are clear and obvious errors, so call them out as such.
  13. I'm not sure his or the team's performances are helping his value. Not suggesting he wants to leave or that we should sell him. Just that I think he is more easily replaced than Bruno and Isak if we HAVE to go down that route. I think Isak is understandably going to want away unless our performances suddenly do a 180 and we start playing well consistently and racking up some wins. I think the others will have less suitors for the money we'd want and are less likely to be demanding to move.
  14. He clearly was playing through a problem. It was the same knee that was operated on. There was conflicting advice about whether he could rehab and not need the op or if the operation was required straight away. They went with the former. He came back and looked miles off it. Then ended up having to go under the knife, anyway.
  15. Assuming our most sellable assets are Bruno, Isak and Gordon and we are considering moving one on so that we can rebuild the squad. I’d sell the latter before the other two. Not even close, for me.
  16. I dunno like. I think it seemed like he’d lose his job on the first video alone. As he’d never be out of the limelight and Liverpool would always feel like he is against them. Then there was more, wasn’t there? Like the video of him sniffing gear, the text messages etc. My job doesn’t involve being in the public domain (thank fuck). But if I was involved in something like the above. Say massively slagging off a customer/supplier on video, then doing lines and then a load of messages hinting at possible corruption/being a bit of a nonce and/or creep. Then I’d fully expect to lose my job.
  17. What is the obsession from some with playing our best player out of position? Especially when it's to accommodate a perma-crock who looks totally past it when he's played in 2024.
  18. If we can finally go ahead for once. Then I'd fancy us to win comfortably. If it stays tight or we go behind yet again. The crowd, players and Howe will all get twitchy and start to feel the pressure. With the amount of lax defending we've seen this season, then who knows. Not even going to try and predict the team. As Howe doesn't seem to know his best XI or the positions for some of them and I'm not sure I do But I think it will probably be the same as Saturday. With Tonali and Gordon back in. Joelinton looks fucked and might be the sort of game it wouldn't hurt too much for him to miss out. Just not sure what the alternative is, assuming Willock is still out? Longstaff as the LCM? Bruno to play LCM and Longstaff right? A wildcard and Miley suddenly returns?
  19. I'd agree with pretty much all of this.
  20. You've not been watching us too closely if you'd want Tino. I think he has been really up and down this season. Crap going forward, terrific at the back for the most part. But seems a bit sleepy and slow to react to things the last few games. Van De Ven, for sure. Some much needed pace to our backline. But he is often injured and I believe always a hamstring injury. Not sure why that matters in this purely hypothetical situation Then possibly Brennan Johnson to play right wing. Necessity and the fact he gets goals and assists. I'd take any of your midfielders. Sarr, Bissouma, Kulusevski, Bentancur, Maddison. We'll have most your team, please
  21. Apropos of nothing. He let my mate go when he was coming through at Cambridge. So he is loving this. Always said he couldn't stand him and he was a creep
  22. Adolf 'Adi' Hutter. Well he'd sort the right wing out, at least.
  23. Stayed off here most of yesterday. As I thought maybe I was being too emotionally charged with my views after yet another shit away performance/second half. But even now all of the annoyance, anger, disappointment and whatever else have mostly subsided from Saturday. I still can't help thinking that I don't believe that Howe is going to turn this around and it just feels like we have seen that away performance and also the changes that make us worse, along with the game getting away from us, one too many times now. I don't think I'll ever be a vocal HOWE OUT type. Not unless we were to go on some sort of Pardew/Bruce/Carver/McLaren type run of results, along with similar levels of performances that we saw under them. As I really like the man and appreciate everything he has done. He seems like a top bloke and all. I genuinely want him to prove me and many others wrong and get us back on track. I just can't see where it is coming from when there are so many issues at present and too many of the same mistakes being repeated. I have never got when a manager has the next 2-3 games to save their job. As it is so short-term and it must mean there are serious doubts about them in the first place. Getting a couple of good results doesn't suddenly solve all of the problems that exist. However, to contradict myself a bit. I do hope we can win our next 3 with some much better performances to match. Then go into the tough run of festive fixtures with a bit of momentum and then who knows.
  24. Not sure I’d be starting him in a Quarter Final myself.
