I think Sandro is fast as fuck for a centre mid. Not winger/forward type pace, though.

I think he has a part to play between now and the end of the season. But I don’t see the sense keeping him beyond that. He isn’t staying fit for any meaningful amount of time and can’t be relied upon. No idea who is on our radar for RW. But someone who can play there and cover up front better than Gordon can. Would be worth signing. Got to get a bit creative with who we sign with the PSR restrictions. Put Wilson’s wages towards are more versatile forward player who can play across the front 3.

Yep. We were crying out for come control of the game. Whilst it was disjointed and frantic second half. We were the better side and managed to slow things down a bit and keep recycling the ball. I’m sure Howe would have had a word. As we approached it differently from the whistle in that second half. But he meant we won the midfield battle.

I know we need a squad and we do need 6 midfielders for this system. But there’s not much point in having him around if he looks nowhere near the standard required against League 2 and League 1 (Championship) opposition. I’m glad he managed to contribute in the end and after the 3rd goal. He did look better. But when we were building decent possession and attacks. All night it would break down when it got to him. He’s nowhere near good enough in a team that wants more than 30-40% of the ball per game. It was always going to happen at some point with the vast majority of the pre-takeover players. But we’ve out-grown him as a team.

I was expecting the same system and team as Arsenal. But guessing Burn won’t play. Hopefully Botman is ok. Could still play that 3 CB set up with Krafth, I suppose? They leave a lot of room on the counter. They seem so leggy trying to get back. So i might be good to go with that again. But I wouldn’t mind seeing Willock for this in the usual 4-3-3, either. Our record there is atrocious, mind and as others have said. They’ve been decent enough at home and have kept getting results. It’s on the road where they’ve struggled.

Not that we have many options there. But he seems like the next man up at RW now. Howe even alluded to it in his press conference the other week. I think he will offer something up top, in time. Especially when games are stretched and he learns a bit more about the runs to make, when to come short etc. The unpredictability was working well out wide. Not so much in the middle.

Said it a few times on here. But my Leicester supporting mate wasn’t sad to see him go. Said he can’t change things, his plan A is all he has and when stuck in a bad run. It just keeps getting worse. Was saying it would happen to Chelsea earlier in the season. But just assumed he was doubling down and lying to himself. Or he was just bitter

Thought he was quite passive in the challenge and in the air. They did seem to target Targett with that diagonal all night. Solid enough, mind. Still rather him there than Burn if Hall isn’t playing.

Still can’t cross or see a pass/pull back. Shame. As he gets himself in great positions all game long.

I understand lower league teams want to put themselves about. But there’s a line. Proper hatchet men and snide stuff galore. Just chippy stuff, little niggly fouls, shirt pulls etc. But when the game opened up. They were doing their best to injure all our players. Got out mostly intact. Hopefully Burn is ok and just a precaution.

I thought he was quietly brilliant. He was my MOTM for us after Willock. Only one in the back 4 that seemed capable of finding a pass or a switch. Didn’t really put a foot wrong defensively, either. Difficult game to come back in and him and Schar together is not ideal. As neither is the aggressor or good in the air.

Hope he can build on this. MOTM this. I think he’ll be seeing some meaningful minutes the next few league games.

Should have 2 goals. The one he somehow missed from a yard and Murphy could and should have rolled him in for a tap in. But took an age to do anything. Lively as fuck. Great feet and pace. Think of the job Howe has done with lesser players. I think he could develop him into a very useful player.

Probably not. But he made the run and got there. So I’ll look for the positive.

Dreadful. Looks a shell of his former self. Two starts against lower league and he’s looked awful. I hope he can find a decent half hour from somewhere. We need a deeper squad as it is.
