  1. Available for what we paid for him 3.5 seasons ago
  2. It’s more that once he goes to close him down and the ball is looping up. He decides to stop dead and let Peresic have a touch uncontested. I’ve seen far worse defending. But it’s lax as fuck. The sort of thing someone like Trent rightly gets pelters for all the while.
  3. Yeah. That reminded me of how he was here. Too stand off’ish and passive a lot of the time.
  4. I don’t mind him. Just a bit drab and inoffensive. It’s Taylor and Caulkin I can’t stand. They are absolutely dreadful.
  5. Awful bloke, Rix. But provided us with one of the greatest chants of all time.
  6. That Roy Essandoh story is wild. I always knew he was an FA Cup cult hero. I didn’t realise he was signed off the back of an advert on Ceefax A few mates played with him at Bury Town. It was at the end of his career. But a lovely bloke by all accounts.
  7. Take your schoolboy flirting to DM. So we don’t have your bullshit polluting various threads.
  8. So they’ve basically lied. Despite there being video footage from the broadcaster? Whoops I still find it hilarious that they felt the need to mention him reappearing in a WHAM jumper
  9. I don’t mind our draw, at home to a team who I think weirdly often rotate for cup games? They’ve hardly been great this season, either. ‘If’ we were to get through. Still a chance of a favourable looking tie. Just win here and then who knows.
  10. Man City with Salford, Leyton Orient and Plymouth so far. Probably get Exeter at home in the quarters
  11. Getting upset by a WHAM jumper with Howe and Tindall on FFS
  12. Eh? I’m on about from the Arsenal game and it read that way to me. Botman started that game. Otherwise I’d be typing out 9-10 changes
  13. What are people thinking for this? Krafth in for Burn and the same setup and team as against Arsenal? The usual 4-3-3 and Willock in place of Joelinton?
  14. I’ve liked the look of Bergvall whenever I’ve seen him. But he’s getting exposed here.
  15. I have since we relegated them there. We won the league. Then invaded the pitch and they played We Are The Champions
  16. Never heard of him before. But I knew Ryan Hardie was Scottish before he even opened his mouth. Just looks Scottish, somehow.
  17. Nuñez at the end there pretty much the only place you could head it on target and not score. Gutted we didn’t sign Chiesa………
  18. Bit extreme. Are we blockading roads and telling him to get out the club whilst offering him out? Certain players do seem to be a lightning rod for negativity and moans and groans from the crowd. Murphy, Longstaff, Almiron. I can be guilty of it, for sure. Willock is another that fans get frustrated with and it’s understandable at times. But I’m not having that suddenly being positive about Longstaff will mean his performances and form will improve? I also don’t think he’s regressed as a player. I think he’s always been a limited player. Who was very good in a particular setup and following the plan to the letter. The fact we are trying to evolve as a team and we now have better players. It has become even more noticeable. It’s not a coincidence that he now seems to be 6th choice CM. He deserves our support when he’s on the pitch. Everyone at the club does currently. Which maybe wasn’t the case over the years! But I’m not sure what the issue is with talking about him on here when he’s been playing crap or suggesting he needs to be moved on?
  19. Pope is the better goalkeeper. Dubravka’s much improved form this season doesn’t change that IMO. Sort of related, I thought Pope was very good last night and all. Two of his usual crap passes. But also some nice stuff from him pinging it about and a couple of decent enough stops. When we signed Pope. Nobody was really calling for a new keeper from memory and plenty didn’t see it as much of an upgrade at the time. It didn’t take long for people to see what an upgrade he was. Admittedly, earlier in the season Pope was mostly average to poor by his standards and he made some howlers. But the whole team was inconsistent and even our star players were struggling for form. I find the notion that the run we went on had loads to do with Dubravka coming in and him suddenly improving us. As daft as the argument that social media and pundits liked to use about how we’re a better team with Longstaff in. Purely because of the final result and a reasonably small sample size. It’s incredibly reductive. I’d play Pope in the next 3, personally. Never mind the final. Certainly City and Liverpool. I think those sort of games he’ll excel for various reasons. Not that clubs tend to rotate their keepers for league games and understandably so, I guess.
  20. He’d be a waste of a squad place and wages IMO. If Isak does need a rest or God forbid, he’s injured. Then there’s a pretty big chance Wilson will be injured at the same time or nowhere near match fit/sharp. Plus the fact he can’t do two games a week and hasn’t been able to for years. If Isak is out for say 2-3 weeks. Wilson will then break down in that time frame. The same as last season. I’d rather have Osula and the new right winger/Gordon (who I don’t even rate up top) as back ups. He can’t be relied upon at all and he’s looked well past his best since what, the end of the 22/23 season?!
  21. He certainly seems more mobile this season. I know it’s only been cameos and against lower league teams. But he has been impressive and looks very calm and assured for his age.
  22. Absolutely loves the Toon/hates Arsenal based on that Either that. Or he was just getting caught up in it all.
