    England

He’s just a kid TBF and a very good player already. Clearly a very confident lad. But it did make me laugh that he was almost complaining and looked like he was going to cry when Trippier was giving him a load of shit after he chirped up in the second leg. Arsenal players trying to get Trippier to leave it, as he’s so young. He put a pretty big target on his back with that Haaland celebration. Old enough to pull that. Then you’re old enough to get some heat coming back your way.
  2. Are Spurs in a position where they need to sell to buy? I wouldn’t have thought so myself? I thought the fans complaints were because they didn’t spend enough or on the players they need. Despite not actually paying back huge amounts on the stadium or having a big wage bill vs turnover. What do you think he would cost then? Surely in today’s market even £65-70m is too low for him? Which would still be massive money for us. Has his form not dropped off a cliff after his earlier successes under Ange, as well? I know they’re a bit shit. But they’re still a very attacking side. I know it’s not purely about G+A. But Jacob Murphy has more goal involvements in the league than him and I’m guessing he’d be playing on the right here in this hypothetical scenario. Despite moving about and often being more central there.
  3. How the fuck did they lose when he was taking the piss like that He’s probably always played this way. But I never realised how good he was with his feet. Quick feet to get a bit of room or away from a tackler. Does it all the while.
  4. What? Would they not want like £70-80m for Kulisevski. That’d be a huge waste of money on our budget and not even sure he’d necessarily want the move anyway.
  5. That’s an impressive lineup of smug cunts. Like they’ve managed to get the A grade, Champions League level pundit when it comes to pretentious nonsense and loving themselves. A top tier top 5.
  6. Probably best to ignore everything that smug prick says.
  7. Haha. Class. That clip is going to be meme-worthy. Me every time I have a pint on Super Sunday.
  8. Wasn’t there an ex-Liverpool scout/DoF type who basically said they are well aware of these players. But they can’t afford to take the gamble and bed them in. So they will raid the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth or previously Southampton. Then pay a big premium. Sounds absolutely bonkers to me. But there was more to it than that and there was some sound reasoning behind it that I can’t really remember or try and justify.
  9. Paid a bit more attention to him since all the rave reviews and us being linked a bit more. He looks extremely lax at times, but sort of in a good way, if that makes sense? A bit like Schar, just casual as you like. Plays off both feet really well and also like Schar, his passing is range is superb. Centre back who wears short sleeves and gloves even when it's quite warm, though...... Maybe one for the pet hates thread. But that's just not on
  10. How can you have possibly seen Brentford enough. Compared to being able to watch Gordon every week and arrive at that conclusion? Don’t agree on Gordon either, FWIW. He has plenty of games where he is miles off it and not contributing. Salah looked absolute shite against PSG and us and he’s the favourite for the Balon d’Or. Isak has had games for us where he’s barely been involved. It happens. I do agree on not wanting Mbuemo at the price he’d cost. Feels like he would take up 50-75% of our transfer budget and I don’t think he is worth that at all.
  11. Same. I just kept writing ‘fuck off Pardew’ under all Pards related stuff and got blocked. Someone got my account unblocked after the takeover. Not even on Twitter any more
  12. Said it all along. For a long while his ‘average to poor ’ games were like a 6 or 7/10. But he would get called out for them and people would make out like he’d been shit. Numerous times I said he’d played badly. Then I’d watch the highlights and look at the numbers and he’d actually played pretty well. You just realise on the day, that he’d dropped a bit below the ridiculously high standards he set early on. Victim of his own success.
  13. Listening to The Monday Night Club. Mark Chapman really seems to have a soft spot for us, doesn’t he? Maybe he is just fair and balanced Ange™️) for all clubs. But he’s always great on 5 Live and Sky, I think. Rory Smith sort of praised us through gritted teeth. Good journo. Bit of a smug prick the more I listen to him. Michael Brown and Chris Sutton of all people seemed genuinely happy for us
  14. I went A. His lack of pace is mad for a top level footballer. His lack of power when kicking the ball is also a bit weird. So to me, despite this. It actually shows just how good he is. Only the other week. He was top in Europe for through balls, duels won and fouls won. I think for the last couple of seasons. He’ll be top for distance covered in the league. His injury record is very good. Then you have all of the mental (no, not like that) qualities that he brings. He’s almost the complete midfielder. Just that pace that stops him being that elite of the elite level.
  15. I have two mates who didn’t follow football much. Who started supporting NUFC after visiting with me a few times and going to the odd game. I have Everton, Arsenal and Spurs supporting mates who genuinely seem to love us. Again, this is just based on weekends on the piss and going to games here and there over the years. I’ve always said it feels like home from home, for me. Even though my Mam’s side of the family left the NE years ago, I’ve never lived there and I’m only 1/4 Geordie. It’s easy to see why players fall in love with the club, the city and the region.
  16. Yep. I think the disallowed goal just before helped the emotions feel even greater and the fact it’s the cushion of a second goal on top. I was still stewing off the disallowed goal and how that might have been our shot. They had already played better in the first 3 minutes of the second half. Than they had the whole of the first. Then that gets chalked off and you start to have your doubts. Then Isak scores a worldy and everyone loses their minds. I believe my exact words were “now try and rule that one out you cunts.” I then suddenly had a nervous wait for the replay. Thinking VAR was going to chalk it off again I also think the relief and emotion was amplified at full time due to their late goal. As opposed to cruising to a win. It suddenly meant much more.
  17. You’re not alone mate. There were genuinely people around me who seemed like they were worried Spurs would get back into it when we beat them 6-1
  18. Same. I’ve been saying for ages. I’d love our right wing signing to be a goal getter that can also be our backup striker. No idea who this mythical player is. Someone in the mould of Mbuemo, perhaps. But a player that wouldn’t take up most of our transfer budget.
  19. Liverpool mate after the game was adamant Bruno was MOTM. Said he could see why everyone would say Burn or Joelinton. But he just reckoned he controlled the midfield from start to finish on and off the ball and with his game management (we’ll forgive that daft attempt at a drag back) Out smarter and outplayed them. Referenced the game at Anfield and how MacAllister got the better of him that night. But he couldn’t live with him this time around. They clearly don’t seem to like each other. No love lost between the Argies and Brazilians I would have went Joelinton, myself. Burn next by a fag paper.
  20. Met up with a good mate of mine after who's a Liverpool fan. He said we did a really good job of seeing it out at the end in the corner and was almost laughing in the pub. As some of their fans were complaining about it as a tactic ignoring the fact every team in the world would try the same.
  21. 100% this. It’s like he shoehorns big words in and comes up with stupid analogies to seem like he has a clue. Utter weapon. He’s like a slightly more polished version of Little Carmine off The Sopranos, the way he carries on

There’s doubling down when you’ve been proven wrong and then there’s whatever the fuck this is I was wrong with my comments and views after the Brentford 4-2 loss. But surely you can’t still be thinking Howe isn’t the man for the job after the turnaround in form and then after a cup win?!
  23. Thought he was very good. Not really any controversial calls, he let us be aggressive and kept his cards in his pocket most the game. He didn't seem to be pressured by a Sky 6 team, like a lot of refs are. People will disagree. But I don't find this Liverpool team as offensive in that regard when it comes to hounding the refs and the pressure coming from the players and manager. They were under Klopp, well, it was mainly just Klopp But this lot under Slot seem miles away from peak Arsenal and Man U, or the Chelsea teams under Mourinho, for example.

This is the worry with Trafford, for me. I know he is young. But 'Flapper Trafford' and how he looked in the prem have me a bit concerned. Been brilliant this season by all accounts and on the numbers, of course.
