I’d have him here if Howe went, 100%. I just assumed he was going back to Spain and had somewhere else lines up already. His playing style would possibly result in a lot of burn out and injuries, again. But then he also might use his squad better than Howe has and his squad has never been the deepest at Bournemouth. I don’t watch enough European football these days. So fuck knows who a realistic option would be from abroad. From the Prem, Iraola is about the only realistic option that I’d actually be excited about.

Rumoured to be on more than Pope by those who would know. Pope’s salary is listed as like £60-80k a week depending where you look, I think? Ramsdale isn’t good enough to be our number one and £80k a week plus for him is horrendous. Plus the agreed fee is meant to be £20m!!!

It seemed like he was desperate to join and very positive with all his media stuff when he signed. But he was barely a step down from what Isak did in the summer. So I’d say there could be an attitude problem or a character flaw there. Plenty said as much in the summer. Not me, mind. I agreed we overpaid by £15-20m. But in hindsight, I was ignoring the fact he went on strike a bit and using excuses for him. We’ve actually overpaid by about £50m. Par the PSV game, against a terrible side on the night. He looks like a competition winner. Although a competition winner might work a bit harder and act with more professionalism.

Partridge shrug. He’s had a couple of quieter games. But he’s mostly been really good since moving up top. I thought he was pathetic on Sunday back on the left. Most of our players were, TBF. It was yet another game against an aggressive, athletic defender where he didn’t fancy it. If we are going to try and only sign athletes and play on the counter when we can or create chances almost purely off pressing. Then we will massively miss him. If we want to evolve as a team and play an actual striker up front and players with more ability on the wings. Then I don’t think we will. He won me round when he was our player of the season by a street. Hard to forget how good he was. I think he was then average to poor, with the odd great game, for quite a long period of time. I always thought there was a big gap for what he now gets paid and the position he has within the team. Versus what he actually delivers.

I wasn’t Howe out before this. Still, not TBH. I was unhappy but willing to give him time. Have been since November/December time. But watching the same shite every week and not seeing any signs of improvement is getting hard to defend.

I thought he played pretty well. But I’m struggling to see why people are complaining about a blatant foul. Even if you think it is soft. Why give the ref the option and then whinge afterwards?! It’s a foul.
