  1. Fucking class today. Seems to be on the deck a lot. But he’s always seems to be in the right place and he’s always calm on the ball. One of our best value buys that I can remember.
  2. Quietly had a good game until Bruno went off, I thought. Then he was absolutely horrific in the deeper role. Kept falling over, as well
  3. Thought Fred did a good job on him. Plus he had to play even deeper than usual. Was still usually quality when he got on the ball. But was maybe a bit below par with his passing. You noticed how good he is when he went off. Totally lost any control of the midfield and Longstaff then proceeded to give it away for the next 20 minutes or so. We need Shelvey/a DM to play that deeper role.
  4. Fair result. They lacked quality when it mattered and we were also really sloppy with the ball when we had chances to hurt them. Really missed ASM and Isak today to help stretch the game. Trippier, Schar and Botman all class. I thought Casimero, Varane and Fred (bar that miss, which was probably offside earlier on, anyway) were all good for them.
  5. Should have had a pen. I know the defender is round on the cover. But it’s a blatant foul. I’m sure he will score now. But is there a more annoying footballer in world football than Bruno Fernandes? That rat face fuck could start an argument in an empty room. Always moaning on at every decision. Complete and utter cunt.
  6. Obviously the coaching and quality of delivery has improved massively this year. But we really are quite a physically imposing, tall and strong side. It certainly seems more noticeable live or when you see the box from a corner on TV. Start all the big lumps or tall fuckers. Just maybe not Lascelles and Wood
  7. Agree with this. We have played well in basically all of our games this season. Brighton being the worst of the lot and Bournemouth not being great. Yet we didn’t lose either. This feels like the first game against a decent side. Where there is a bit of expectation there from the fans and media. As opposed to viewing it as a free hit or expecting fuck all. A draw here, beat Everton and then take some confidence into Spurs away. Where we got battered last year and looks a harder game than this one. Then I’d be happy.
  8. I have to say. I do actually admire your optimism and positivity. I’d be pretty down and a bit worried if a starting XI of that quality scraped a late 1-0 against a side as poor as that. Maybe this place can learn a thing or two from you in the matchday threads
  9. I don’t think the result or performance has any bearing on our game on Sunday. But that isn’t a good performance. Yes they defended for 90 minutes. But surely with the players you have. You’d think it wouldn’t take you until the 93rd minute to score. For all the chances and fluffing your lines. It wasn’t like the keeper has made 4-5 worldies or you’ve hit the woodwork loads. You were 2-3 mins away from being booed off for failing to score.
  10. As if I needed to put a smiley in there FFS. Thought it would be quite obvious that I was saying it tongue in cheek. Do prefer VAR when I have seen it used in Europe, mind. Doesn’t seem to take as long or have everything examined in minute detail.
  11. Savage is desperate to get a VAT decision for Man U, isn’t he? Probably was a red there, mind.
  12. Never thought I'd be going down a Joe Kinnear rabbit hole on Youtube
  13. Of course they are real things. Where have I said they're not? He was referring to Bruno being in a good run of form, now. Despite the fact he only played the last two games and was injured for a good few. Only played about 3 games at the start of the season. So is it just this season he is referring to when he mentions his 'rich vein of form?' I'm sure they have an army of analysts feeding them stats and clips. Bruno has shown class and been our best performer since he signed in Jan and has been on all the statto's radars the last two seasons at Lyon. Some run of form, that. True to form, he's just going in with football cliches and throwaway comments, though. I just find he plays up to his character and Sky probably encourage it. It's like Zlatan, I'm sure they've become self-aware and do it for the sake of it. I find it all a bit tiresome. Ooh wait for it. Keane's going to be miserable when everyone else is waxing lyrical. Oh and then everyone will laugh and he'll be there staring into the camera like a maniac. There seems to be a massive lack of insight from all ex-pro's in the mainstream, TBF. It's just easy to single out Keane as he makes everything so dull, boring and negative. Plus he's clearly an absolute cunt.
  14. Had to go and drag it up again. Listening to it now
  15. Allardyce is right up there, for me. As I started regularly going to games when he was appointed. Most of the signings and certainly the football was so uninspired and depressing under him. Wigan away on Boxing Day and Fulham away, are two of the worst games of football I have ever been to. Wigan in particular, was an utter disgrace from a Newcastle point of view. Oh and how could I forget Derby away. I think I probably dislike Allardyce the most, thinking about it. Perhaps because of the narrative around him with the media, his own ego, all other fans queuing up to tell me how he's a good manager and would have kept us up. Fuck me, I'd rather end up in League One than watch that shit every week. Kinnear and Carver were just comedy value and somehow just feel nothing about them, looking back. Pardew was a slimeball and got found out soon enough as a manager. But I did go to some good games and we had some quality players, at least. Not sure if it is recency bias with Bruce. But the way he carried on here is probably the worst of the lot. Although, I think I had lost interest after half getting back invested under Rafa. So it just didn't hurt as much and I didn't care like I did when I was younger.
  16. He's a left footed, wide forward type who plays on the right. Certainly not a right back.
  17. The end of that Barca game was League Two standard at times. Absolute madness. Barca are fucked still, aren’t they? Inter should be going through on head to head, no?
  18. Only dipped in and out of watching. But Napoli seem quality the few times I’ve seen them.
  19. Keane has become a parody of himself. I'm not saying every pundit should go overboard with their positivity like Micah Richards. But everything there is just commenting on his 'form' or 'confidence'. Always damning with faint praise and passive aggressive with his comments. Can't stand the cunt. He makes Souness seem cheerful, positive and complimentary.
  20. I was registered with Anthony Nolan and was once a match for someone. But they found a more suitable donor last minute. Won’t lie, was kind of relieved, as it sounds pretty painful. Whilst also being fully prepared to help, if required. Over 30 now and the info I submitted before was many years ago. So I have re-registered with DKMS, just in case.
  21. Poor old game. Not a lot of quality or composure on show from either side.
  22. It was only Brighton where I thought he struggled. That was only off extended highlights, mind. When he’s been fit this season. He has been outstanding. Just seen he only played 3 games, then the sub app at the end of the Tranmere game. Then out until last weekend. So not really a massive sample size. I just found it odd to mention form. When he has been classy as fuck since the minute he set foot on the pitch in a Newcastle shirt.
  23. He did also say Bruno’s ‘in a rich vein of form’. Which is a bit odd. As even from the 5-10 mins cameos, through to his first start and goal. He has been outstanding in basically every game he has played. Only really Brighton that springs to mind and maybe Everton away (may have misremembered) , where his levels have dropped.
