Umbro must have had a re-think or hired some Nike designers as their stuff being released for the top flight club teams of various nations is simple, stylish, and excellent. They clearly are harping back to their Nike owned days of the "Tailored By" gear, which I hope they get back into and really start making kits like that again. I keep banging on the Macron drum, same as I said about Umbro -- either they had a re-think/some new hires as their stuff is very simple, bit unique and executed perfectly. Nike -> Adidas/Umbro -> Macron are my rankings right now. The rest are hit and miss. The simplicity makes the shirts. Unlike some other companies they understand that you don't need spikes or stupid gimmicks and that the best kits are generally the ones that keep it simple within the traditions of the club they represent.

Massively in profit, still about £45m in the kitty by my reckoning. I think we'll possibly see another striker in and that'll be our lot. Say £15m for a striker and we're left with a rainy day fund of about £30m just in case Pardew needs bailing out in January again.

I feel honoured to be holding our own with the sovrin state of burnley. In all seriousness, it's been decent so far. We've made some good acquisitions and hopefully we'll get at least the striker we need to round off a good effort.

Loads on here said he looked a bit porky in the pictures he put up and now he's returned 1.5kg over the upper limit of the weight rules. The club can't just fine him whenever they like without some kind of reason or the PFA would be all over it. I love HBA as much as the next man but if he comes back from holiday overweight he only has himself to blame. Contrast this with Marveaux who apparently spent the summer working with a private trainer to make sure he was in top condition when he returned.

I think the people saying there's no way we'd get him to do the pictures with the shirt before he'd signed the contract have forgotten which club we follow.

Perez and Armstrong are in the development squad and Cisse is in patchy form recently. Think we should be in for one more and probably give the young lads a go in the cups. Depends on the setup he's intending to play too though. Having the extra striker gives us the ability to switch to two up front if and when we need to and still have some depth on the bench.
