I thought he was probably at his worst for us at left back and arguably the reason behind Pardew's defensive wingback creation. He was a total liability and relied on Jonas covering his ass 99% of the time. It's more that we made about £60m profit last season. Thus far we've spent circa £8m (Perez and SDJ) and recouped £10m (Debuchy assuming reports are correct). For a club that 'stands on it's own two feet', 'spends what it makes' and has approximately £62m sitting in the bank we seem incredibly concerned over a million or two euros here and there.

De Jong can play off a main striker and from Pardew's quotes it seems he sees him in this role so if we go for a 4 in midfield I would imaging SDJ will be the 1 in a 4-4-1-1. Cabella will be on a wing but I can't say whether it'll be Sissoko or Gouff he displaces. Personally i'd like to see us line up 4-3-3 but I think he'll stick to his 4-2-3-1 and line up the front six like this: Tiote Colback Sissoko SDJ Cabella Cisse / Gouff Possibly Sissoko in for Colback with Cabella and Gouff on each flank but I think he'll want to play Ginger Jack, at least to start with.
