He has done better this season and to deny it is just a bit churlish imo. Despite some of the shite performances (everton 1st half etc) we have been keeping the ball on the deck and at least trying to play decent football. We've looked more organised and coherent and like we have some kind of game plan. I still don't think he's good enough for this club or the man to take us forward but he should get credit for the improvements we've seen this season so far.

He's in the same camp as Jonas for me. Lovely bloke, committed pro who always gives his best but ultimately just not good enough. I can't dislike him or slag him off because it's not his fault he's getting picked. He'd make a decent 4th choice CB for us but shouldn't be higher up the pecking order than that.

If they go down they might stay down a while. We had the good fortune of keeping together a premiership quality squad whilst still shifting enough deadwood to balance the books (we had Chris Hughton too ). I don't see enough quality in their squad to guarantee they'll bounce straight back up even without selling anyone.

No pleasing some people.... Better teams than us have fell short and it was easy to slip up but we didn't. Don't confuse that with being happy with Pardew though I want him gone within the hour if possible But it was a good result and better teams than us will and have lost there. We got a win. They're a newly promoted side. They are not premier league quality. Where do you think they'll finish this season? Top half? Top 6? No. They'll be down the bottom because they're not a good side. That doesn't take away from the fact we went there and got the 3 points. The 2nd half was as bad as the first half was good but we got the result and i'm pleased with that. It doesn't change my long held opinion that we could do much better under different management.
