  1. Christ, are we not allowed to hold an opinion other than they're absolutely perfect? They're learning on the job, I get that. What they've done for the city and the boost they've given thousands will never be appreciated more. But plenty has leaked; Ashworth, Emery, Trippier, Carlos, Botman - yes, leaks on transfers may well come from the seller, but let's not sit and pretend absolutely nothing has came from our end.
  2. Probably, but that doesn't change the fact everything has been leaked. Literally everything.
  3. Concerned another club may come in, but more concerned basically everything since PIF/Staveley/Reuben were first linked to NUFC has been played out very much in the public eye. Someone can't hold their tongue. Bets suspended on it being Mehrdad.
  4. He really has been a snip. If you look at the early pages in this thread, many echo my thoughts at the time. Feedback from mackems wasn't great either, but he's been absolutely fine - really good at times. The fact he's comfortable at both RB & LB is invaluable too.
  5. Chrissy Houghton is a lovely bloke too.
  6. Kane was nothing, if I remember correctly- Sherwood was caretaker or something and had a bit of a striker crisis, so had to play him. Similar situation with Rashford I think, can't remember much fanfare about either (certainly not on FM ) prior to them breaking into the squads or as youngins, although I could be wrong. They got in by accident and have stayed there - makes you wonder how many kids/young players just need a run of games, there'll be 1000s that slip through.
  7. Me included! I thought he was going to stifle his career. It's almost as if Pep Guardiola with his 30 trophies as a coach knows more than me.
  8. To be fair, wasn't the stick Pep took directly in relation to Foden? Think Pep's argument was he's better off around first-team training, and it looks to be correct in this instance. I am pro-loan too though, I suppose Foden is once in a generation sort of talent.
  9. Good insight 1878, I can remember years ago when we linked to Adam Nonceon from Man City and being fucking buzzing, whereas Man City fans were commenting on how he's a pure MOTD player and will only look good for 10 minutes a game or something. It's important to listen to what that set of fans say about a specific player/manager as they watch them week in, week out. We only see glimpses and it can give a distorted perspective of the situation. Obviously in this case I knew it was bad (Rafa at Everton) but your posts really do summarise it well. I absolutely loved him here to the point where I packed in my Season Ticket after 17 years or something when he left. I think he's been horrendous at Everton but it was a horrendous appointment. It's entirely possible to think he's done a shit job there, but done a good job at NUFC, though. Not really rose-tinted specs, I just think he improved us massively, whereas he's obviously done the polar opposite @ Goodison. Was heartbroken the day he left. Definitely wouldn't have him back, though. Think I agree that he's been left behind a tad by the modern game. Don't think he'd ever agree to it, but maybe international management would suit him better these days.
  10. Agreed, it's very important we win to build a bit of momentum after the great performance against Man Utd, however I do think with us having a huge couple of games in the league I'd certainly not be starting ASM or Joelinton (don't actually think the former is fit anyway?), and I definitely wouldn't play Trippier After everyone was buzzing for the Brentford game with it being the first for Howe, only for COVID to strike, it would be sod's law for Trippier to play tomorrow and do his ankle or something, such is our luck. I'd probably go; Woodman, Krafth, Lascelles, Clark, Ritchie (them last two eurgh, but not much else), Longstaff, Willock, Almiron, Murphy, Gayle, Fraser. Might be tempted to play Anderson instead of Willock, but I'd definitely go strong and try and win the game early, then able to rest the likes of Fraser & Willock. Really looking forward to it actually, can't remember the last time I was so excited for a home cup game. Probably Preston in the League Cup in October 2016 - hopefully a similar scoreline tomorrow.
  11. Please just fucking win, man. I was convinced we were going beat Brentford, then I was definitely convinced we were going to beat Norwich. Trying to convince myself we going to lose, which shouldn't be too hard given the current league table Due some luck though, hopefully an atomsphere like the Brentford/Norwich games.
  12. Not taking out away from Reuben, but his family matching food bank donations whilst being Tory party donors is quite ironic. Really fancied last night but couldn’t bring myself to get tickets to listen to that prick Hurst.
  13. Same here regarding Spurs game. I definitely am more invested than I have been since Benitez left, but doesn't feel the same. I think that will change if I get my season ticket back (hopefully).
  14. Not sure this is the correct thread, but do any other clubs have a group of fans who are so desperate to be celebrities as our lot? Wraith, Hurst and others. It’s hideous to watch man. Proper all think they’re pure ITK as well. Fucking helmets the lot of them, embarrassing and cringey as fuck. I must have muted about 15 accounts on Twitter. Even that Franchi kid is an annoyingly little twat
  15. Get them uploaded to the Trust mate! If they do approach the club as promised, you may well get them back Loyalty Points – Newcastle United Supporters Trust (nufctrust.co.uk)
  16. Reason I ask is because if you log into an online account, it shows your points still and when they were removed. If you get in, screenshot and upload to the trust. Probably a waste of time but who knows!
  17. have you got online account on co.uk?
  18. I know mate - shitting myself! Hopefully not everyone plans to go camp out
  19. Would be interested to know how many season tickets are sold now. Can't see many of the 10k who walked in 2019 being filled now, plus those who'd have left since. Obviously there'll be people who bought tickets since, but doubt that many. Honestly think there will be at least 20k trying for tickets, and maybe about 12k available.
  20. They're still on my profile on website, and the point of the trust scheme was to upload screenshots of points etc. So fingers crossed, but next to no hope!
  21. My mate messaged recently and was told by a board member it will probably go to a members vote, which I think is bollocks personally. They should adhere to their promise and at least approach the club about it. Nothing on that section of the website that mentions anything at all about a members vote. I hope I'm being cynical, but I honestly believe it was just a push to get members. It may not have been in the 1000s who signed up because of it, but there'd have been a fair few. I personally know of at least 30+ who cancelled, all with probably at least 50pts. I don't expect my ST back by any stretch, but the points should be permanent no matter what. Hard miles and thousands spent, yet people lose them when they can't afford a ST anymore. It's bollocks, always thought so after a family member relocated in 2012 and lost all points. I'd love 10 minutes with Staveley to get my point across. Don't believe anyone at the trust will push it as hard as people like us would like. No chance.
  22. Me too mate - had over 150, but I have absolutely no trust in NUST to even do this. They'll put it to the members and it'll be voted against, as for some reason the consensus amongst those that stayed is that people don't deserve them back, despite £1000s spend building them up. They should never, ever be removed in my opinion. I hope I'm wrong, but I feel that the trust just done this to gain a huge following of members. I know I'd not have cancelled if I didn't have confidence they'd approach new owners to get them back, not put it to the fucking members as I've been told they will. Maybe @Greg could shed some light on the plans? We'll never know for sure, but those who cancelled could have made a difference to the sale going through. Who knows - but it certainly riled Ashley up enough to dish out 10k freebies.
  23. Ah I hope not! Will have to wait till next summer then unfortunately, and queue up at midnight like everyone else
  24. Wonder when (if) they announce half season tickets? Fucking desperate - costing me a fortune so far! Spurs, Chelsea, Brentford, Norwich and Burnley is a kick in the arse off £200. Suppose that's the going rate, but when I packed in ST when Benitez left I was still on price freeze so was paying like £38 a month!
