He tried to bring him down in the box once he'd got past him which would've gotten him sent off if he'd succeeded, never mind a yellow! Don't take this the wrong way as I love him but he's not been his best defensively the past 3 games. He should have had more cover when he went to engage Kane for their goal but he still coould've done a lot better than he did 1 v 1. He's been dominating those encounters all season but Toney, Watkins and Kane have all done him in the last 3 games.

he's surely an asset in any NT squad. An option that you can bring in for 3 or 4 different positions if you need his particular skillset and physicality. honestly I feel like if we get Willock and Longstaff to improve their finishing to the same extent that Big Jo and Miggy have we'll start scoring for fun in some of the games we've drawn this season. Amongst midfielders per 90 minutes in the league this season, Joe Willock is only behind Bruno Fernandes, Odegaard, Xhaka and KDB for touches in the opposition area. Maddison is next after Willock and then it's Joelinton. We get midfielders into the box really well and the wingers + Trippier are already doing their job getting the ball in there for them.
