weird thing is our passing accuracy was 86%. Way higher than our average last season (78%) and joint with our best game from last season vs Leicester.

He can play CM for us but it definitely has to be the most advanced role. I don’t think you want him picking it up in our own half because he’s a risk taker in possession. One thing I love, and I noticed it in pre-season too, is that he’s not afraid of shouting at the senior players and telling them when/where to press. He clearly understands that part of the game very well.

can we set a mission of not bumping his thread whenever we lose this season, do you reckon
-
could have, imo, played Almiron narrower (in the same kind of position Foden played) rather than as a conventional winger. Might have given Isak more of a link.

beat these cunts and their dickhead manager
-
I thought he was really poor last week but this week he picked the ball up and alongside Trippier and Tonali in parts was the only one to show some composure and quality tonight. Out of possession it was impossible to get near them. It didn’t help that Joelinton seemed off his game a bit.
-
he was much, much better tonight btw.
-
Pretty much a flawless performance imo.

if you are getting mad at individual players, especially the ones who run about giving everything, for us losing to Man City you’re off your fucking rocker.
-
would’ve liked us to have played with a bit more aggressively tbh, but no shame in losing to these.
-
Botman has been really good tonight imo
-
Anderson really has something.
-
Kovacic completely unplayable in a team like this. Can’t get the ball off him.
-
when he gets to play in this position, yeah. Him, Salah and Saka are the best outside of Man City now Kane’s gone.
-
Burn can’t go forward though really. His cover is needed defensively. It’s Joelinton’s job to overlap Gordon today I think, he’s just looked bizarrely lethargic.
-
Not had enough deep runs from Joelinton beyond Isak
-
we have not been able to pick up Foden and he is is Messi-mode
-
Been a huge space between defence and midfield for Foden all game so far. Inevitable that he got the assist.
-
Casemiro looks really bad

totally. The outcome of this kind of coverage, whether it's O'Brien's audience or Morgan's audience, is intentionally designed so that the listener goes away thinking that the general public are all idiots; remaining ignorant to any kind of systemic or structural issues there might be. You're meant to go away from it thinking there's no chance anything can get better because individual members of the public are idiots, all whilst the root issues are completely ignored.

I would generally just advise avoiding LBC at all costs. They deliberately get the worst opinions to call in, O'Brien gets to pretend he's outraged and then "owns" them to drive engagement. One of the most cynical and damaging media formats going in a competitive field.
