Thought he got personal control of the full £2bn trust fund when he turned 25, and didn’t need mother anymore. Might be wrong though. Either way, even if he has the cash, there’s a world of difference with wanting to spend it, as well as being able to with wage restrictions etc.

Think he got full control last December when he turned 25.

All clubs need to sell players to assist with FFP- it potentially brings in a large amount of revenue that can assist the club in moving forward past this first year. Yes, we probably don’t NEED to sell anyone each year, but it would help us buy better players in the future if we did, as it adds massively to the FFP figures. The issue we have is that normally top clubs buy young players for comparatively small amounts (or develop the individuals themselves for nothing) and then sell them for larger sums a few years down the line. We simply don’t have that as our planning to that effect had been neglected for so long, and only mainly have older players who won’t be worth much.

Has to play less than 1500 minutes for the season, for a fee of around £4.4m to be triggered. Don’t know how many minutes he’s accumulated now but it was looking unlikely (though not impossible) a few weeks ago.

This. They’ve played a massive part in the reintegration of the relationship between fans and club this season, increased the feel good factor immeasurably, and hence have also contributed massively to our success. I pay a small monthly fee to them as a way of saying thank you for what they’ve done- well worth it in my book.

It was actually because you said: And I pointed out at least Wood earnt them a precious point against the league champions in their battle to avoid relegation. But whatever.

Obviously. But we were discussing the ex NUFC players.

Fair old trek from Singapore, Belfast, Oslo, London etc just to stand outside an empty stadium…
-
They’re going to need another expansion for the masses

IF Newcastle lose, then it would depend by how many goals. Liverpool wouldn’t then need to score 7.
-
No, because we don’t want him.
-
Cracking signing if they stay up by a point
-
Wood scored their only goal to earn a draw against Man City

They’ve got very young kids that were born in Portugal whilst he was back in Wolverhampton. I’d figure he’d prefer for them to be back in Spain and closer to his extended family.

And Gundogan
-
Can he play Monday night…? ??
-
Thinks he has to buy yet another 45 players, including 10 full backs, in time for the new season.
-
Most (all?) won’t let English fans buy home tickets officially, I’d have thought? Unless you go via a tout.
-
Yeah, can’t see them selling- they’ve no need unless for stupid money.

Don’t believe so? From The Athletic: “What will the Champions League look like from 2024-25? The number of teams competing in the competition will increase from 32 to 36, meaning there will now be 189 matches instead of 125, and the group stage will be replaced by a league phase — otherwise known as the “Swiss model”. Each team will be guaranteed to play eight matches in the league phase, down from the proposed 10 after talks in Vienna, of which they will play half at home and half away. The top eight sides in the league will qualify automatically for the knockout stage. Those finishing in ninth to 24th will compete in a two-legged play-off to determine who reaches the last-16 of the competition. Two of the extra four slots in the competition will be awarded to nations whose clubs achieve the best collective performance in the season before. To work this out, the total points earned will be divided by the number of sides competing in European club competitions. This is a notable move away from the much-maligned and heavily criticised five-year historical coefficients. If the new rules had been applied to the current 2022-23 season, the two extra places would go to clubs from England and the Netherlands. In three of the past four campaigns, a team in the Premier League would have received one of the additional slots. As it stands, for next season’s qualification process, they will go to England and Italy.”

The PL get 5 places when the new format begins.

GD would be bloody close if we happened to lose our last two games and they play against Southampton

Aye. The Royal Family have fixed this game to get back at the whole anthem thing.
