  1. Base salary, aye. “According to Daily Mail, the Norwegian forward is earning a pay packet of just under £900k per week. He makes £375k per week as base pay but his contract includes a number of 'almost guaranteed' bonuses, taking his wage up to those eye-watering levels.”
  2. I’m sure it’ll rise this summer- rumours of Bruno extending (and improving) his contract are rife. However, it still won’t be anywhere near Salah’s wage (for the time being)- probably around £200kpw?
  3. They pay individuals far more than we do. Salah is on £350kpw as their highest earner. Bruno/Tripps are currently ours on around £125kpw.
  4. There was talk of their strategy changing to this philosophy last year, with the signing of Ekitike. However, unless/until they move on the likes of Neymar, Ramos, Messi etc (I know it’s likely this summer with Messi) then whoever comes in will still have the same problem as wor Hugo. Plus the likes of Thuram, Muani aren’t the elite, world renowned names that the Qataris and PSG fans would like to see/need- they’re bought as potential rather than polished players, and will be a definite downgrade in lots of aspects, not least worldwide financial income. If they continue with this new strategy (no matter the good intentions) PSG will gradually begin to drift away from the elite Euro clubs. (Imo!).
  5. Jassim is a full ownership, Radcliffe is partial. Supposedly.
  6. Would’ve won with Jonjo…
  7. But back clause only activates in 2024. They have another clause for 20% of his fee which I guess they could use to lower the overall figure.
  8. Been in England squads and got 2 caps. Don’t think he’s underrated, just that the country has an abundance of FB’s at times.
  9. There are always ways around the ownership issues and continuation transfer planning ongoing. The Qataris have allegedly agreed a significant transfer fund in their bid. I’m sure other bids would also include funds for transfers. If the Glazers remain, they have always backed their managers with loads of cash for transfers, despite what the Man Utd fans say. I could just see Timber fitting in there given the manager (nationality and use of the Nederlands for the previous transfer window) and need for a CB (as well as other positions, obviously)
  10. Not to mention the actual fee? If it’s north of £80m then a) would the club pay that if the total transfer budget is around £150m? (At a guess) and b) should they, given £80m could potentially get us two Bruno type signings? And yeah, as you say, the wage will be well above £200kpw which West Ham have already offered him and which he’s turned down.
  11. Why? Malacia gets a lot of games I think, and Van De Beek is injured since new year? Can see Ten Hag still having a lot of credit over there/in Europe in general.
  12. Maguire replacement id have thought.
  13. It ‘expires’ in 23 purely because they’ve paid it off. “NEWCASTLE UNITED have struck an agreement that will see them end their shirt sponsorship deal with Chinese betting firm Fun88 this summer, two years earlier than initially planned. The early end to the current arrangement will enable the Magpies to secure new headline sponsors for the 2023-24 season, with a future deal likely to dwarf the Fun88 arrangement, which was agreed during Mike Ashley’s reign.” (From Oct 22) https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/23044570.newcastle-united-end-fun88-sponsorship-deal/
  14. Ref Watch/Dermot Gallagher said it was the correct decision, for what it’s worth. Can’t recall the reason as I was raging again.

‘Bally’ was first name on the team sheet too, but he was fucking shit as well. Being semi decent relative to the others in a shit team doesn’t make you any good. Those managers you mention are picking a team in L1/the Championship. It’s a country mile away from being a PL standard, let alone a ‘good’ standard. The standard of the championship this year has been the poorest I can ever think of. Let’s see how good he is when/if you make it back to the PL- going by his attempts at tackling this year, he’d be suspended the vast majority of the season.
  16. No he’s not? Howe said this morning he’s out of the next game but has a chance for the following and should be fit well before the end of the season.
  17. The People’s Club. With no people.
  18. We’ll smash these scouse mackem cunts. Can’t see them scoring- 2-0 to us with Pickford flapping and crying at the end.
  19. I think his goals have come when he’s been deployed as a midfielder as opposed to a FB. Various sites have him down as decent going forward (although poor at crossing), but also defensively suspect. Depends what we want from a player I guess, but it’s certainly evident that a large percentage of our defensive success this season has been because of Burns lack of forward positioning.
