  1. But I wasn’t responding about the quality of the squad, but hoovering talent.
  2. And yet Arsenal have the most players out on loan out of all clubs in the world according to football research undertaken by CIES Football Observatory from March, with 25 players, whereas Man City ‘only’ have 20 out on loan. (Brighton have 21, and there are 8 premier league clubs in the top 20).

Bought for roughly the same fee as Gordon I think, so theoretically should be very good at their level, if not our own.
  5. Had consistent lengthy hamstring and knee injuries
  6. Wages would be an issue for them, surely?
  7. They’re only obliged to buy him if they qualify for the CL apparently.
  8. There’s a lot to be said for knowing a stadium already…
  9. Great player but character would have question marks to me, ie. whether he would fit in with the squad. He’s openly admitted to being a loner and not being part of things at Man City.
  10. Both his father/agent, and himself have said that he wants stay at least another year. Guess it depends if Leverkusen want or need to sell him, and also if Alonso stays or not. Contracted until 2027 so he’d go for a decent sum.
  11. both happened miss out the word ‘joint’ from their headlines. From THFC: “Tottenham Hotspur has finished joint-top of this year’s league table, alongside Liverpool…” From LFC: “The Reds and Tottenham Hotspur have been recognised as the Premier League clubs who are leading the way with their ongoing environmental sustainability efforts.”
  12. Very healthy (possibly the best in the league). https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/financial-fair-play-rules-mean-25426611?int_source=amp_continue_reading&int_medium=amp&int_campaign=continue_reading_button#amp-readmore-target
  13. Only in the eyes of the Italian press. Don’t think he said anything himself, to that effect? Subsequently they made out he only came to us because we offered much more money. Who knows where he’d be if both offers matched?
  14. Doubt Serie A could/would afford him. Saudi or MLS awaits I reckon.

Simms got 7 goals in 17 games too, before he was recalled
  16. The more time he spends on the treatment table, the less valuable an asset he’ll be, to us or any team wanting to take a chance on him.
  17. He’s the only one that would potentially make decent money for us. At some point, we will have to be selling players to make money and also improve our FFP figures (as all other top clubs do), as well as improving the squad at the same time. Ritchie and Dummett are both out of contract this summer. Can’t see Fraser or Lewis making any money for us.
  18. Abraham wouldn’t want to come to be an understudy, surely? Yes, he’d be playing a fair bit especially now we’ve got a European place, but he’d be wanting to be the main striker to win his England place, no? He’s 25 years old- we’d be looking at someone younger I think (unless he’s replacing Wilson).
  19. Danso, CB Seko Fofana, M Openda, CF
  20. Might be a non-binding agreement, I read the other day. Can’t see them keeping him unless they have to, especially for the price.
  21. “The 23-year-old England international forward joins Arsenal from Manchester United, where he made a total of 142 appearances, scoring 29 goals. Since making his senior debut in 2008, Welbeck has also won 25 England caps” https://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/20140902/arsenal-sign-england-forward-welbeck I didn’t think Man Utd gave him much of a chance at the time, if I recall correctly, but 142 appearances isn’t too bad.

Howe is 5’ 10. Looks about right for 6’ 3?
  23. Was that not for Marcus who is out of contract this summer?
