  1. I think it's 70% Ashley going, 30% that the new owners are extremely wealthy and 0% that it's the Saudis (and 0% approval of their foreign and domestic policies). You'd be seeing the same joy, maybe more, if we were being bought by, say, the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund or a consortium of multibillionaire Geordies. Unfortunately neither of those exists. You'd be seeing 70% if Ashley had just died and left the club to the Cats & Dogs Home.
  2. The Athletic is running one of those "submit your questions that you'd like Alan Shearer to answer" things currently. A lot of the suggested questions pertain to his cabbage-headed mate . . .
  3. For those who haven't got 25 minutes to waste, they get round to Cabbage Heed at 15:20 and he's ranked equal worst along with Farke. I reckon that's a horrible insult to Farke.

  5. Didn't deter us from hiring the Cabbage.
  6. Whenever I begin feeling that way, which isn't often at all, I remember him (when he was a Birmingham City player) in the Sky studio, at half-time of the Man Utd 5-0 game, moaning that Peacock's goal shouldn't have been allowed and that Poborsky should have been given a penalty, and hoping that Man U would come back and win. And now he's managing us, claiming to have been a lifelong fan and one of our own, and having his thick media pals repeating the same rubbish. Tomorrow he'll be cozying up with his Man U buddies as usual. Guy's a total phony. and I despise him.
  7. This thread not generating an overwhelmingly enthusiastic response this season. Strange, that.
  8. Jack Charlton, Norman Hunter, Trevor Cherry and now Terry Cooper gone within the space of about a year. Cooper was one of the first to figure out that a left back could contribute more than just marking the opposing right winger.
  9. It'd likely be Graeme Jones, mainly because he'd probably be cheaper. I'd prefer him to any of those three stooges anyway.
  10. Yes, these days points deductions are unfair to the fans, apparently.
  11. His goal was a pelanty given when a teammate got elbowed in the face, and the assist was him taking a corner which a teammate brilliantly headed in, but good for him anyway.
  12. Been relegated three times in five years. Poor bloke.
  13. Spurs must surely be wondering if they can pry Bruce away from us, given his unparalleled experience and how he has bounced back to mastermind our recent string of brilliant results. Did better than Rafa last season. Doing better than Potter this season. Proper English Football Manager. Great bloke. Genius man manager. Beloved by TV pundits. You know it makes sense.
  14. This. Make all six of them start off next season on minus-25 points. Otherwise the only lesson they'll learn is to be more organized next time
  15. If the PL's Officers and Directors criteria mean anything, they must mean that the PL can remove officers and directors who have actively conspired to sabotage the league.
  16. If this is true, find out how much and fine them double.
  17. Really good long interview with Wozza "Centre-Partin'" Barton in the Athletic today by George "No Red Flags" Caulkin. Emotional stuff.
